Peter Howells

Took guitar lessons with Michael for approximately 4 years. He took me from raw beginner to an intermediate level. He also taught me a lot of music theory which greatly helped me to understand the instrument and to read music. His prices are very fair and good value for money. Michael was also very accommodating and was happy for me to video him demonstrating a concept which I could then view as I practiced at home. Highly recommended.

Their store offers paper crafting products for sale, music instruments for sale and other products needed for music and paper crafting. Cards and other 3D products are also offered there for purchase There are art classes and singing classes and musical instrument playing classes, and crafting classes available there, while social distancing and methods of special shields are set up. gift cards are also available

What a great place, full of art and music. All of the crafts that Els makes in her classes look so cool. Michael's paintings are beautiful and he teaches painting and animation too. I go to take ukulele lessons and I love them. Even on a bad day (like today) the music is so soothing and Michael is incredibly patient. He teaches me a lot of little tricks to make playing my instrument easier and so much more fun. I have the option of doing my lessons by Skype, which is so convenient for me when the weather is bad. He has many students who don't live in Parksville, or who don't drive, so it's perfect for them too. If you enjoy art, crafts or music, you'll love the classes and the environment at Academy of Music & Art Parksville. And look for Michael's program \Painting the Island\ on Shaw Cable 4.
