I sought Elena's assistance to prepare a mock up of my US Estate tax returns as I wanted to understand the potential tax exposure as well as the process and information required to file such a return so my Estate and Executor may be prepared for such eventuality. We had an initial phone consult, I completed a questionnaire, satisfied myself that the data collected would be secure, signed a contract and paid a deposit. About two months later, with the Xmas and NY holidays intervening, I received a completed assessment, with all forms required to file, background and discussion on the US Estate tax process and basically everything I asked for. I had a few questions that were also responded to in short order. I can honestly say I am very satisfied with the engagement. I had identified Hanson Cross Border via a Google search, and as with any such search, I had to admit I was apprehensive about handing over very private financial information and as to whether Hanson had the wherewithal to undertake what to me was a unique request. After talking to Elena, and concluding that her Company was very experienced in US Estate tax matters and had actual filing experience, I took the plunge. The final report out was professional, and succint..everything I needed and expected.

Elena and her team were referred to us through a immigration lawyer. From our first meeting 4 years ago she was professional and very pleasant to deal with. Her knowledge of both the Canadian and US tax systems are extraordinary (hence why she does the cross border taxes for some of the professional athletes who play for the Toronto teams). Elena and her team manage both our Canadian and US business and personal tax returns. I've been reading some of the bad reviews which in my experience is not justified. US tax laws are so complicated that Elena and her team want to keep you on the right side of the law.
