I've been training at NKS Don Mills for over 15 years. What's kept me here are the dedicated staff and diverse curriculum. The instructors are passionate about what they do and it shows! Classes are rooted in traditional Okinawan technique, but there's always variety ... self-defence, weapons, cardio, and more. Due to the pandemic, classes are held online, but the instructors have managed to adapt to this new format and bring in fresh ideas. I still get a good workout each time!

Amazing martial arts school geared towards family, fitness and fun. Deeply rooted in karate but rounded out with so many other aspects of martial arts, with fitness, self defence and sparring complimenting the karate training. Both the professional and volunteer instructors are all top notch and motivational, led by the ever passionate teacher Kyoshi Michael Walsh.

In 2009, after a long summer vacation travelling, and enjoying a bit too much food and beer, I realized that I needed to start a regular fitness routine. I had worked out in gyms previously but found it hard to stay motivated. I decided to try something different and with my 2 boys (6 and 8 yrs old), so we joined NKS-Don Mills karate school. I found joining as a family and participating in group training sessions was the motivation I needed to stick to regular training. It was a bonus to see my boys develop skills - both physical and mental - as the years progressed. NKS encourages senior belts to help train other students, and this helped my boys develop leadership skills. I personally became much fitter and confident in my physical abilities. No question, you get many benefits from the school, but the friendships and support from everyone at the school really makes it special, which is why I continue to this day with regular training.

NKS Don Mills is a family friendly school that has taught us all respect, confidence, humility and discipline...not to mention amazing karate skills and fitness. The teachers are wonderful and the students support each other to excel! Thank you NKS Don Mills for persevering and creating amazing classes even through Covid! :)

I am a student of Northern Karate Don Mills. It is a great place to practice and learn the art of self defense. The instructors are friendly and supportive. Kyoshi Michael Walsh is one of the finest instructors I have ever trained with. My spirit was strengthened since I joined NKS Don Mills.
