Residents beware - This doctor has a restriction on his license because he charged clients for services that are covered by OHIP!! My sister has been a patient of his for over 4 years now. She has an autoimmune disorder that causes her eyes to bulge and can eventually lead to blindness when left untreated. My SIL suffers from excruciating headaches, blurred vision, her eyes cannot completely shut and she often goes cross eyed. Dr. Kesty is the one who noticed these symptoms and the severity of them. Fast forward a few years, my sister has been calling the office for the past four months, just to get an update on a referral they advised they would be sent. She has been going back and forth with the receptionist/ “supervisor”, Charlene, for many months. On numerous occasions, Charlene has hung up on her, been verbally abusive and very condescending. Dr. Kesty’s office said they would send a referral, then weeks later said my sister had to get a family doctor to send it, then said she doesn’t need one and they’ll send it, etc. Upon the next call, the office said that she’s no longer a patient there because she “hasn’t been in for an appointment in over 4 years”. My sister called to make an appointment in the fall and they said she didn’t have to come in!! Even then, she advised she could come in at anytime for an appointment. The receptionist then said ”Dr. Kesty isn’t taking new patients at this time,” and that my sister would have to find another doctor (despite how urgently she needs a referral). Charlene wouldn’t even tell my sister what her first name was but her name was later provided by a mutual friend. During one of the last phone calls, my sister advised the receptionist that she would submit a complaint to the CPSO, to which Charlene responded, “Ohhhh, I can’t wait!!!” Just an FYI for everyone!!

Dr. Kesty's office cancelled an appointment we had made for a consultation and then preceded to blame us for the cancellation. When I attempted to call the receptionist/supervisor she repeatedly hung up on me and was verbally abusive in the process. While I will be filing a formal complaint, I would ABSOLUTELY not recommend this office to anyone. There are far better offices with a greater knowledge and a capacity for courtesy. We never had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Kesty, so I unfortunately can't speak to his professionalism, but if I could rate this lower than a ,0 I would.

The lack of compassion in this office is a shame. The woman staff especially the blonde hair blue eyed woman was very rude and condescending. I brought my 2yr old with special needs twice and they treated us so poorly. The first time we waited 3 hours with a screaming toddler and still wasn't able to see in my sons eyes as he was irritated after a long wait in a waiting room not meant for children. Dr Vijay was nice enough to suggest we come back and get the first appointment of the day so there is no wait...my husband brought him one month later to an 830am apt where he was supposed to be first and waited over an hour while others were served before him...while being treated the same. Where has the customer service gone in the medical profession. It is hard enough to bring a 2 yr old to get prescribed glasses -10 strength and have drops put in his eyes burning him and making his sight even worse but you have to treat us badly during this emotional tough process. Absolutely awful. All the staff need training or to be replaced. I will not be going back here but would rather travel to Toronto for my sons specialist.
