I was hesitant on buying one via an add online. Seriously. Don't let a bad review steer you away from purchasing a kayak through these guys. they made this a super easy and a stress free experience. Bob and I believe his wife Dena (sorry if I I'm wrong) and truly great.. Bob does not need a spanking by any means ahaha. These two were so helpful. I can't emphasize that enough, they get back to you almost immediately and answer any questions they can to the best of their abilities. Having this be my first time doing something for myself like this, it was really exciting and could have made it a little easier to take advantage of the situation... They ended up saving me half a K.. Bob really went out of his way and helped me from making a mistake of buying something I didn't need. If there was any underling meaning behind what these guys do here I believe that would have been the opportunity to strike. Realistically they'd never have to see me again so why not? That just shows these guys want people to actually just enjoy themselves and live their lives with out going in the whole and selling a body part to do so. Bob also took the time to help me and make sure I knew what I was doing when putting my rack on the car. Made sure I knew what knotts to use and taught me a little trick, keeping the ties nice an clean and not blowing around. As far as the actually kayak it's self, it's perfect. The only thing is, is the compartment for storing is not as big as I wanted but I honestly never asked about it anyway because I was so excited. It is a fishing kayak, so clearly its just a little built in bate box but I have an option to add a piece in the back and I will definitely be getting it through these guys if they're able to help me. So just make sure you ask all and every question you have, they're not bull headed or make you feel some type of way when asking they're just to point. And that's what you want right?! 100% recommend.

I purchased a pelican kayak from this place, Mike car topped it and damaged my vehicle(suv), even though I wanted to go grab roof racks, got it home and used the kayak once... peddle drive broke, pelican takes 2 weeks not the slick 3 days mike promises to replace a drive. Warranty misinformation to sell a kayak...guess he needs the money. All in all pretty bad experience. Go do yourself a favour and buy an oldtown or hobie but stay away from this place and their junk. This location has Bob... Bob is a little bullheaded jerk who needs a spanking.

I bought a Black Spruce canoe from the owner several years ago. Great service and customer support. The owner did not try to upsell me and discouraged me from buying extras he thought I wouldn't need. He was very knowledgeable and worked with me to find an option within my budget. I think very highly of Freedom.

Went to see them about kayak options as I wanted to get into it after canoeing for 17 years. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on my first one and didn't want a Pelican from Canadian Tire. I was hoping maybe they'd work with me to get me into something. The salesman (owner I think) didn't seem interested in working with me once I told him was want going to spend 1000 on my first kayak. I went to their booth at the Halifax RV and Outdoor show. I spoke with a salesman about a special they had on for the show. Again, he wasn't overly interested in working with me to get me into a kayak. After speaking with my wife I decided I'd buy the kayak they had on sale for the show. I went back to the display and stood there for 5 solid minutes while my wife wrestled my toddler and tried to keep our newborn happy in the stroller. One salesman just stood on the opposite side of the display not acknowledging me whatsoever and the original salesman kept helping everyone but me. I went somewhere else.
