Very disappointed with the company and very aggressive with their payment method. I have been paying on time since my policy started back in august but had an issue with my bank on a particular month which caused a non payment. I contacted Intact Assurance to solve my non payment but they charged me an NSF fee due to my failed payment. I then contacted my bank and asked for a letter claiming that I had a fraudulent charge in my account which caused the failed payment. I kindly asked Intact Assurance to remove the NSF fee that they charged me the reinitiating fee to settle my account and that I would like to settle the remainder of my policy with a one time payment. They disagreed and told me its not their fault and I am responsible for these charges. Very disappointed!

Beware of Intact Insurance (also sold under the banners National Bank Insurance & Belair Insurance). They are completely unprofessional when it comes time to processing a claim, and they utilize undocumented policies (applying their interpretation of policy) to reduce the amount they have to pay. As an example, I made a claim with them this summer for my above ground pool which got damaged during the winter. Not only did it take them 3 months to process my claim, they also applied depreciation to the installation cost of my new pool, claiming it's their policy. While their policy does indicate depreciation will be applied to the pool based on the age of the pool, there is no specific mention as it pertains to the labour cost to install the new pool. After several escalations internally, they refused to pay the full cost of the installation of my new pool. I have since changed insurance companies, to one where logic prevails and labour costs are not depreciated in the event of a claim. Shame on you Intact!
Called to get a quote for auto insurance. literally spoke on the phone for 2 minutes with the representative telling me i should go to another company. when i asked \are you not willing to help get me a quote and get my business\ they hung up. Company might be good but customer service at 2020 Blvd Robert-Bourassa is unprofessional.
I wish somebody would finally get back to me regarding an old claim. It's stalling the sale of a property. My next step is to file a complaint with the AMF. I am also AMF licensed and this is uncalled for.
