February 27, 2020 During the last three years the cost of our condo insurance has increased by 71.6% with no increase in benefits. This period of time corresponds exactly with the sale of State Farm Canada to Desjardin. Certainly appears as if there is a wish to increase profit at the expense of the policy holder. During this period there has been no information from the company or from the agent about the increase in policy costs and the reason for the increase. An increase in risk is probably one reason but the increase in profits is probably a more important reason. By comparison the increase in cost of the same policy was 20.00 (roughly 10%) over the previous 9 years. Certainly the company must take the major responsibility for the price increase but the agent has a responsibility to the client to present the client's perspective.

In an effort to \save the planet\ and minimize the use of 'paper' , I find it frustrating when we receive a 3-line email on 2 pages. The rest of the content is filled with needless information that we already know.

Mark, Paula and all their staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. I've been with this agent and the one who retired before him for well over 25 years. They have all been very personable, and go out of their way to make things as painless as possible, whether just updating information or going to bat for you and processing a claim. Only an uninformed client (like we were) would pay their overpriced premiums. Paula was always very good at customer service, but we could never get a hold of Mark the few times we tried. Don't recommend.

I recently had Mark provide me a quote for my home and auto policies as they were coming due. The quote was quick and easy and everything was handled very professionally. It didn't hurt that Desjardins was able to beat my insurance company by around 20% either!! Highly recommend Mark and his team at Caffrey Insurance Agency.
