Thank you so much to Connie, Paul and all the team at Home Instead. You helped to relieve a large part of the stress of providing palliative care at home to a much loved mom during the pandemic. You listened and came up with suggestions that considered everyone’s feelings. Although in the end, our time with you was relatively short, you made a real difference. The service from all who work at Home Instead has been great for our mother. I would give them a 5 star, however I am not for a very specific reason. Our mother uses Home Instead as an addition to the existing Government agency (which was not enough for her care provisions). Because of this combination requirement, she is eligible to get back all of her HST paid with the Home Instead Service. There is a form (and it's tedious and your Accountant will charge you extra for it) that needs to be filled out and then you get all that HST back. That is a lot of money for a Senior on a fixed income. If you are using private to supplement the government services -- please please look into it! It's too bad that the this supplier puts that burden on the purchaser/consumer.
The Home Instead team, in particular Paul, Connie and the Mississauga care team have kept me informed at all stages in the care planning for my aunt. The care team have helped to improve my aunts speech capability and Paul has truly listened and actioned my suggestions. He has an innate ability to really understand the needs and demands put on a family and somehow just know how to ease the distress. I have complete trust in this agency to care for my relative to the best of their ability and this is mirrored in how they support me. As I currently reside overseas, it's a huge comfort to me knowing that my aunt is in good caring and compassionate hands.
As a Physiotherapist, I have has the pleasure of working with the Home Instead team for over 10 years. During my years as an Emergency Department Physiotherapist at Mississauga Hospital, Home Instead was an important partner in assisting patients home and delivering much needed care. The Home Instead Team was always personable, caring, professional, and responsive. As a Physiotherapist that works in Home Care I would highly recommend the Home Instead team. I have always been impressed with their high standards and commitment to ensuring every client is receiving the best care possible. The support and care clients receive is a direct reflection of the care and support given at every level of their organization.
