Would give less than one star rating if I could. Staff out to lunch and apathetic to customers needs. If that's not worst part they give me a truck rental which was completely soiled and dirty, during covid lockdown period too. Reported this to one of underlings there Manuel, who promised a manager would contact me, still waiting after a month, even notified head office, even they didn't have the decency to help me, told me manager would call me, still forthcoming. These people for that customer service robbed me of my money as far as I'm concerned

Stinker Alert! Definitely cheaper than the competition out there but comes with surprises along with it. To start with CAD 500 hold for a mid-size SUV. Well, I was still fine with it but it's been more than two weeks and there's no credit reflecting back into my account! There's a reason why good customer service plays an essential role and why the competition is doing better than these guys.
The availability of vehicles is definitely an issue but I would not blame the staff. Discount has a habit of overbooking and it is really their unqualified Operations Manager (P) who has no idea how to manage the stores. He takes no accountability for anything and I'm shocked they still have him in charge there. The bad reviews here will reflect poorly on the store staff, meanwhile it's their wimpy operations manager that causes the issues. They're forced to over book and amend reservations whenever that \man\ requests it. For the store staff I would give 4 stars for the level of stress you have to endure. For the company would give negative stars, so rounding to 2 stars
I rented a car from this company on their Dundas St. East branch while mine was being repaired and I paid a 300 deposit via debit interact, I was told that I will get a refund directly into my account but after 7 days after returning the vehicle there was no refund yet and after i called them they told me that it will be returned by cheque from their main office. Very frustating experience because I have to wait 2 weeks (hopefully not longer) and another few days to clear the money being on hold. It may not be much for some folks but every penny counts during these trying times. So please train your employees properly to give the correct information to your customers!
I had my booking for last Friday, I called a few hrs earlier to confirm its ready and was assured the vehicle is ready for pickup. I even confirmed if I am required to bring anything besides a driver's license & CC. The lady on the phone confirmed no other requirements. At the time of pickup I was told I needed to bring my insurance company detail coverage policy to confirm my rental coverage additionally they will not be confirming the coverage and the onus falls on me. This was news to me as on the reservation email or the person on the call from earlier did not request that information. It was 5 pm on a Friday and insurance call centers were closed so I had no way of getting him the information. The guy across the counter just didn't care about the business so I walked out and told him that I will take my business to someone who cares about retaining customers. I will not recommend this specific Discount Location to anyone else and will recommend going to Home Depot or any other rental company.
