We wanted to make a good quality legal basement and gave the job to one contractor. Unfortunately, the contractor took a larger share of the contracted amount and then left the job unfinished half way through. He gave the reason/excuse of sickness and later stopped communicating with us. We then came across Altima Homes Inc. through a reference and were glad to have them on board. They took up the half way finished job and then got it completed with all necessary certification steps. There were some hiccups due to pandemic situation but Altima and its full team followed a very good Covid-19 protocol while executing the work. Both Mr. Ashok Sahi and Mr. Abhay Sahi are educated and experienced professionals and their workmanship and taste reflects very positively in the job. Mr. Sagar and other team members working on the site were also professional and skillful. The price charged was reasonable and they delivered a quality job in that price. We will happily recommend their services for legal basement or renovation jobs.

The experience with Altima Homes has been disappointing, I engaged Altima to complete my basement (legal) project (Dec 7,2020). Signed a binding contract with an agreed project cost along with potential timelines dependent on the city permit. I received a generic email from Altima a day before I received my city permit (March 19th,2021) regarding increase in price by 30% from agreed contract. I offered a fair negotiation of 10% increase considering the current situation , however Altima refused to start the work without an agreement on new cost, and encouraged me to shop for new contractor. Altima homes are not professional and does not honor the binding agreement/contract, what matters is their profits (30% increase is unreasonable, a contract is a contract which needs to be honored). I have lost trust with Altima and have severed all ties with Altima and have gone back to where i was on December 7th looking for a contractor to start my work , i have lost out on 5 months by engaging with Altima. I hope this review helps others dealing with Altima as you can get a notice of price increase even with an signed contract / agreement if the profit margins of Altima are not met.

I have heard many horror stories about contractors but Altima Homes is the complete opposite. Ashok and Abhay are a pleasure to work with and very passionate about their work. They make a great team and are very professional and responsive. They resurfaced my kitchen and finished the basement. The work was completed as designed and on time.
