I kindly got an invite to try Me.n.u.'s Peking duck poutine! I stepped into their shop at 11:30 am, being right when they open and was kindly greeted by the staff working. I really appreciate fusion food as I think it's a fun twist on traditional dishes. The base of this poutine is made with fries similar to that of Costco's, which I love! The gravy was hot and steamy the curds used melted very nicely. They loaded this poutine with so many ingredients: Peking duck, mayo, green scallions, fried onions, black sesame seeds, red peppers... I'm probably missing a few, but like I said, it's LOADED. All these components didn't just add color for presentation but really packed the flavors and textures! Surprisingly, the poutine wasn't too salty, and also had a good balance between a sweet salty palette. This was such a well thought out and well conceptualized creation! Though delicious, I highly recommend sharing since the portion is quite big it can be quite heavy on the stomach. The shop itself is small, but they've cleared out space for social distancing to happen safely, as well as clearly marking out where to order for Pokito and where to order for Me.n.u. So excited for Me.n.u’s recently launched ‘food-truck-turned-resto’! I remember the first time trying their fried rice balls was back in the day at food festivals, now they’re easily accessible all year round at Queen & Spadina. Aside from their famous Roti Tacos (the kalbi steak was delish), I’d def recommend trying their new menu items like Peking Duck poutine, and cheesecake Bao!
I had a wonderful experience booking Me.n.u for my production. They served 50 of the crew, craft services as well as lunch and dinner. It went very smooth and the guys were a pleasure to deal with. Not to mention that the food was incredible! Tons of variety and extremely flavourful. Would recommend 100%
