It's a real-time parent relief. During the pandemic while the demand is unprecedentedly high, yet the support team does great jobs on balancing the well being and the learning needs of the student. When we feel isolated, meaningful engagement is practiced and mentored at YRT, with care and supports. The result of this is a happy kid with high achievements. Thank you very much! :)

Former tutor, worked from 2019/09 - 2020/12. Great work environment, strikes nice balance between professional and casual (not overly formal, friendly and welcoming). Flexible hours, though there is an expectation to adhere to a schedule so you can tutor the same students regularly. Founder and head tutor, John, was always enthusiastic and encouraging. Gave good advice and support to other tutors, and had a great attitude with his students. Secretary, Diana, was super friendly, great about communicating plans, changes and scheduling. Diana and John are both very supportive when a student or tutor is struggling. Cannot thank them enough for the opportunity to work with them. Two friendly dogs occasionally roam the halls to provide moral support, but they're good about staying in their room when there are students uncomfortable around dogs/pets.

All the tutors are of top quality, especially John the head tutor. The secretary Diana is kind and always flexible with class rescheduling if there is an emergency. Additionally, she is always available so it is never hard to get in contact with her. The tutors all know their respective subject areas very well and teach at a good pace. Furthermore, the tutors and especially John make students feel comfortable. I personally had John and he was not only an amazing tutor as he helped me attain 90s in all my courses, but more importantly he made the class something I look forward to due to his charisma. Therefore, I would definitely recommend this tutoring service to any high school student as it is genuinely worth it.

Frank, my tutor, is extremely kind, compassionate, patient, knowledgeable, understanding, and extremely knowledgeable. He has tutored me for Grade 11 University English (ENG3U) and other subjects. Diana, the secretary, is super kind, helpful, and flexible. Whether it's an upcoming or last minute assignment, Diana will be able to arrange time for you and your tutor. There are many kind and supportive tutors who want you to succeed and reach your potential. I highly recommend York Region Tutoring to anybody. Best tutoring institution ever! :)

I’ve been to a lot of tutoring centers over the years and York definitely stands out. All the tutors are very knowledgeable, patient, kind and understanding. The tutors knew their subjects areas well and were able to answer all the questions I threw at them. Sean- (Physics 11, Chemistry 11) Sean was extremely knowledgeable, kind, patient, easy to talk to, and understanding. He would ask bigger picture questions after explaining a concept to make sure I really understood the topic which helped for theory based questions on tests. He had very thorough notes and was able to adjust to my learning style very quickly. I went into physics struggling and disliking the subject but his engaging lessons and genuine passion for it made physics one of my favourite subjects by the end of the year. Timothy- (Chemistry 12) Timothy teaches well. He explained hard to understand concepts with diagrams and made sure I had a thorough understanding of the subject before moving on. I always felt prepared heading into assessments. Jackie- (Physics 12, Calculus 12) Jackie is an excellent tutor. He is relatable, understanding and super smart. He’s able to get concepts across quickly and effectively and makes sure you understand by asking questions before moving on. He also remembers when you have assessments and will follow up with how you did and use it to improve his lessons and anything to look out for in future assessments. Diana- (Secretary) Diana is very kind and accommodating. I was always able to schedule in add-on classes and book ideal time slots over the years. Super easy to get along with, easy to contact, responds quickly and remembers your interests. Overall, great experience with York and I highly recommend them!
