Previously dealing with a different hospital, until a friend mentioned what a great hospital MSH is. (Unfortunately), I have had to use the hospital’s services twice. Both times I and my family have received fast, and caring service from the staff. FANTASTIC!!!!!

Crowded but friendly staffs making things smooth easy for patients
Unfortunately I had to come here a number of times this year BUT the staff in emerg makes the experience so much easier. They are so friendly. I work in social work and have to go to various emerg depts with clients in Toronto and it is such a miserable experience cause the staff is so beyond rude. The other night I was lost trying to find my way back to emerg exit at MSH and I asked a staff at her desk for help and she was polite and didn't just point, but actually walked with me This wouldnt happen in Toronto, not in my experience unless your dealing with Sick Kids which is a great hospital. Also they are very thorough in trying to figure out what is wrong with you. Another great thing is you can go online and check wait times before you go and they have been accurate. That is so helpful! To me customer service goes a long way so thank you MSH staff...ur attitudes are very much noticed and appreciated
Came in to the ER last night and Dr. Paul Jacobson was so friendly! Everyone working last night was very nice. The whole experience compared to other hospitals was so different. Everyone was friendly and genuinely seemed to care if you were okay. Shout out to Carrie for being extra gentle with the blood test! Thank you to everyone working last night!

While searching for a vein to administer an IV, a nurse by the name of Tricia intentionally jabbed a needle multiple times into my veins and pushed deeper, explicitly telling me \this is to show me what 'real' pain is like\ after I told her I was in pain. She moved on to vocally decry multiculturalism in Canada and suggested the population should be whiter. Witnesses present include other patients, her colleagues, and my companions with me during the ordeal. There is no accountability mechanism for ethical violations in the Markham Stouffville Hospital emergency room.
