Rouge River is by far my favourite microbrew in Toronto. With regularly rotating taps, every trip is full of variety. They host not only their own brew lines (such as the Two Finger Snap, pictured here) but also a sampling of Ontario’s best. Some microbreweries feel like pretentious money grabs; Rouge River is anything but. Drinking here feels like you’re sampling part of a thriving brew culture here in the GTA.

Black Berry

Rouge River brewery is by far one of the best craft brewers in the Greater Toronto Area. They have an extensive drink menu –all on tap—that will appeal to any new or seasoned craft drinker. One can find all kinds of Stouts, Sours, IPAs…ranging from New England style hoppy, to unique and exclusive collaborations with other craft brewers from the Greater Toronto Area. They play live music, host stand-up comedy nights, and serve warm brick over pizza and pretzels—baked on site! The tap room is cozy, with a stage, and jumbo-sized TV playing any and all of your favorite sports games. There is also a nice outdoor patio with tables made form old kegs, and comfortable bar chairs. Samples of pints are welcome before purchase, so feel free to explore something out of your ordinary drink, you may just find something you never knew you’d love. If you get a glimpse of the brewer working his magic, or his partner working the bar, chat with them, they are super friendly and knowledgeable. Most of their tap selection is available for purchase in pint-cans, as are all versions of their glass ware. This is definitely one of the best hidden gems in Markham, Ontario!

Doesn't look like much, end unit on a strip plaza. Nice vibe inside, small outdoor patio, great beers on tap. Currently no growler fills (Covid)

Delicious beers on tap and for retail. They seem to also have a rotating guest tap with their selection. Seating is closed inside due to Covid, but some small hightops for 2 are set up outside at a distance for you to enjoy a beverage. Staff was very knowledgeable about their range of products. Currently no food being served here, however you can order any outside food you would like to the brewery.
