Azyun Restaurant Reviews | Rating 4.5 out of 5 stars (5 reviews)

Azyun Restaurant is located in Markham, Canada on 144 Main St N #17. Azyun Restaurant is rated 4.5 out of 5 in the category asian fusion restaurant in Canada. Our philosophy is that every unforgettable dining experience is comprised of two things: the food and the company. At Azyun, these two are inextricably connected. Our goal is to create a space where everyone can feel like they can connect in a cozy atmosphere while delivering our style of cuisine with finesse. The word “Azyun” can be broken down to two parts: AZ-YUN. “AZ” meaning we want to be able to accommodate everyone from A-Z (ha,ha get it?!). The “YUN” portion stems from the Chinese language meaning “People”. Combine the two together and you have “People from A through Z (...in the place to be)” And it’s exactly that. So whether you’ve come for a time away from the busyness of the central core to soak up the ambience on a quiet evening or decided to grab drinks with long time friends, we can proudly say,

All I have to say is WOW. I brought my in-laws here for a birthday dinner the other day and let me tell you, they have extremely high standards for food because they’ve been to every restaurant in downtown/uptown. There was pressure to impress and boy, were they super impressed. From the atmosphere, service, cocktails, beers and food at Azyun, EVERYTHING WAS perfect and DELICIOUS. For cocktails, I highly recommend Spongebob’s Day Off and if you have a party of 4, go for the Dinner for 4 option (I highly recommend the braised beef tripe and the truffle rice). It may not seem much but it’ll definitely get your group really full. It really made my sister-in-law’s birthday dinner, thanks for the hospitality, we’ll definitely be back again!!

I was really excited to try takeout for this restaurant because everything looked tasty on the menu! Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the freshness/quality of the food. Starting with the positives: the service was great— the person who helped me was very friendly and they were on time with the order. The price was reasonable for a non-fast food joint and the portions were decent. Their covid signage was clear and they had ample hand sanitizer for customers. I also loved fusion menu. My husband really liked the pork belly buns and the tomato jam was fantastic; however the lettuce did not survive the heat lamp. The fried chicken had a nice flavour to it and it was still crispy when I got home! Areas for improvement: The mackerel was the biggest let down— it was fishier than mackerel should be and surprisingly cold by the time I got home. From the restaurant door to getting the food on my plate at home took 8-10 minutes. I didn’t have to wait long, but since they were still cooking my order, I figured my food would be hot— unfortunately the timing for preparing my various items was miscalculated as I watched them bag part of my order from the heat lamp while I waited for the rest of my order to be ready. The truffle rice was also too oily for my liking though the mushrooms had a nice flavour and texture. Overall, it may have just been an off night. After reading so many positive reviews, it might be worth trying the restaurant again in a few months.

We ordered the pork belly buns, the grilled pork chop sub, the buttermilk fried chicken and the cherry BBQ pork belly garlic rice. The food was great (especially the rice and the sub!). I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 as the server brought us the wrong rice dish. Also they were out of the braised short rib buns and the fire roasted chicken soft bones. Other then that it was a pleasant experience and we'll be checking it out again if were ever eating in the area

This is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Markham! If you never been here and wondering what to order, getting the Truffle Fried Rice and the new Tornado Egg Tomato Fried Rice is a must!! Both are super flavourful and definitely something you don't see in other places! Their fried chicken is another popular dish and definitely a dish I always tell my friends to get too! Juicy and tender! Thinking about it now makes me hungry!

Ordered the set dinner for 2 and thoroughly enjoyed how well seasoned and flavoured everything was. We ordered the kimchi zucchini, chilled noodles, sous vide pork belly, salted pepper calamari, and the truffle fried rice. What I found particularly impressive was how the calamari retained its crispness after being fried and carried home for take-out. Definitely took us by surprise and deserved some recognition! However, the biggest criticism I have is the portioning/presentation of the food, especially when juxtaposed to what I paid for it. After finishing it all, it did not feel satisfying by any means. What made it more frustrating was how every container had a shockingly small amount of food to what could be visually perceived as \enough\. In short, the containers themselves never looked filled and highlighted even further how little food we were getting. Is the food here good? Yes, I would say that the meal was delicious and prepared well. Would I come back? Hard to say... Just as I can appreciate a well crafted meal, the set dinner just didn't feel complete enough to merit a rave review.
