The Pain and Wellness Centre was everything I truly needed on my healing journey. They facilitate a space for healing holistically not only through their program, but through the compassion, empathy, and professionalism of each practitioner. Their profound expertise and knowledge are incomparable, and their support inspired me to progress much faster than I had ever hoped or imagined I could. I cannot say enough about how incredible the program and staff are, and hope that all those accepted into the IDP program take full advantage of the amazing opportunity granted to them. I will be grateful to them for the rest of my life.

Professional Doctors! Best Place ever! I have been going to the Pain and Wellness Centre for my severe Sciatica. I had tried all kinds of medications and treatments and none helped me before. I started going to see Alex Mailis, a Doctor of chiropractic and Medical Acupuncture Provider in December and I can't believe how much better I am. I no longer have the extreme pain, trouble walking or sleeping due to my treatments which include acupuncture and specific targeted exercise. Alex wants me to succeed as much as I do. I feel very comfortable emailing him in between treatments if I have questions or concerns. Alex has a very positive attitude. I have also stated seeing Paul Hrkal, a Naturopathic Doctor who is helping me with my nutritional needs and inflammation. Another great experience for me! The atmosphere in the Centre is wonderful. I'm so lucky that both my doctors communicate with each other about my health to ensure I'm getting the best treatments. The receptionists are pleasant and welcoming and make you feel like family. I'm so glad I discovered this Centre. My health has improved tremendously.
I feel blessed to have been introduced to the Pain & Wellness Clinic. Several years ago, I started suffering from my sciatica, I was seeing a different clinic, which was costly and was providing no results. Thankfully at that time a colleague mentioned that he knew a Dr. Mailis, why had started her own clinic and he could put me in touch. That was the best advice I ever received. At the time it was so bad that I couldn’t even walk from the pain. After my assessment and testing necessary Dr Alex Mailis started treating me. Treatment was hands on which I had not experienced and it made such world of difference, and then I was taught exercises that would help me manage my pain, within 3 months I was able to walk again without pain and then I just did monthly check-ins for a few months and then every six months. Alex was kind enough to always stay in touch and he seems to have a keen sense when he’s needed. Several months ago I injured my knee and was getting nowhere with a visit to emergency when I couldn’t walk, from the excruciating pain, I saw Alex again and we did another assessment and already in two weeks’ time, again from hands on he taught me some physio/stretches I could do on my own and now I can walk better and manage the pain so it’s tolerable to walk. I feel not just blessed but thankful for the Pain & Wellness Clinic and the wonderful people that have helped me in so many ways to be able to still enjoy life in spite of the pain we all experience as we age. I have been so privileged to have been a patient - both virtually and physically - of the Pain and Wellness Centre over the past 10 months. I cannot speak highly enough of the tremendous caring and the wonderful medical expertise rendered to me, and the amazing results I have achieved, in getting both my body and mind back into such good shape. As an octogenarian, this is really saying something! Thank you so much Dr. Mailis, Alex, Karen, Paul and Anthi. If there was such a thing as a Health Lottery - I have just won it!
