got scammed plain and simple. every comment on here says he charged 35 to look at their device. i was charged 65 and he did absolutely nothing and had no answer for me. he told me the fix could have been about 5 different things and to try anything would cost 600. so basically thanks for the 65 and if you want to dish out another 600 theres still a good chance there is nothing i can do.
Fixed our microwave fast and gave us a loaner for the day, which was unexpected but very welcomed. Love having an old school repair shop like this nearby. Pricing was very fair and reasonable.
My vintage Technics SA-303 receiver wasn't working. It had no left channel, and there were all sorts of sound problems. I brought it in on a Tuesday, and charged 35 for an estimate. I was called on Thursday and told that to bring the sound to working level would be 150, and the initial 35 would count toward that 150. It would be an additional 50 to change the bulbs that light up the dial. I opted to leave the bulbs for now. The receiver was ready for pickup on Friday, and it sounds magnificent! I feel that I got what I paid for. I think 150 is reasonable for a couple of hours of work from a good technician.
I have had my microwave fixed there three times now (for 3 different problems) and every time it has been a pleasure. Quick service excellent work and honesty all at an excellent price! Combine the price of all three services and it is still way cheaper than replacing the microwave! I highly recommend this business to anyone in need of electronic repairs! Update: 4 years later and the microwave is still going strong!
Butch is a joy to work with, have brought a few items to him and he's let me know if they're worth fixing or not before he gets going on the job. I just talked to him on the phone about the counter size ice makers and if they're an easy to fix and worth it to get it done. He let me know they are not worth getting fixed, so I will buy a new one. I know that I can always get great advice from Butch, everyone should go see him first ! Thanks so much for being there for us Butch.

He had my microwave fixed within an hour and a half. Needed it for the next day because I was listing my home. I'm very happy. Fair price too!
