Despite the other reviews of this company. Stoy’s can not be directly blamed for what these other folks are discussing. Like most companies, a majority of boarders and tapers are sub-trades/sub-contractors hired to complete the jobs. Some of these guys are amazing at all aspects of their jobs, while others may not have as much experience and will not problem solve the way a tenured tradesman will. Quality installation of finish materials will only ever be as good as the trade that was working before you. Stoy does their best to ensure that if a job is not properly done, they send repair and service workers to fix the issues. I would like to personally thank and note that Paula did a great job this morning working through issues on my site that are now no longer a concern.

I have done work in hundreds of homes and never seen anything so bad. I have worked in homes done by them multiple times and have seen how consistently awful they are. Drywall is often not fastend and is entirely loose. There are often bubbles and screws popping through the drywall. All of this roped by the awful attitude of the owner. Is there a problem? It's probably your fault according to them.

I choose stoy as they were members of the LHBA and had been around a long time. I was building a complicated custom home and stressed that I wanted 100% perfection and that I would pay for the extra effort... What I received was a job that took almost 2 months to complete and I ended up redoing some of the work. The boarding crew covered up 28 pot lights, receptacles and switches. It took three electrician two days of work to uncover everything that was buried and another day for my HVAC techs to find the buried registers in the ceiling. Dave Stoy told me that my electricians and HVAC techs were to blame... OK? The crews they brought in were a mixed bag, some were great and some were garbage... I had to deal with one crew falling through an improperly dangerously set up scaffold and another crew that was working while high.... Dave was frustrated that I called him back to repair some defects and was throwing pieces of drywall off the second floor landing onto my trades below. I am still trying to fix all the mistakes and have to sand and remud all the corner beads as the mud was applied way too thick and cracked.... this was not due to expansion and contraction as there was resilient channel and solid steel corner angels and the cracks were from the outside in. There are nail pops everywhere and it has taken weeks to repair, nail pops can and do happen but not to this extreme. All of the issues on this job would have been mitigated by Stoy taking responsibility and providing better customer service, instead I dealt with excuses and blame for others.
