Facility was clean and donating process was very efficient. However, staff members I encountered in the initial screening and blood taking services were very cold, and unfriendly. It kind of ruined the whole experience.

I’ve donated 22 times and going to this main location makes such a difference to the donor’s experience being positive. Unlike pop-up locations, the Wharncliffe location is permanent so all the best equipment, chairs, and staff are there. It’s always a pleasant experience and I’ll keep coming back. Once done donating, you get free cookies and drinks. Try the Oreos, I don’t know where they source them from but they taste better than what you’d get at the grocery store.
Donated platelets for my first time Marylee made everything simple and comfortable; she knows what she’s doing! I will make a habit of it now :) out of all my donations of whole blood the needle was only uncomfortable once but I mentioned it and they backed it out just a bit and then it was all good. It’s always a pleasure!
The people there are really nice. Your appointment TIME means nothing. I waited over an hour from when I arrived to when I started donating. Multiple whole blood donors arrived after me, had posted appointment times after mine, and were taken before me.
Platelets and plasma 2 hours appt usually needed. Straight blood 1/2 hour walkins usually ok.
Amazing very friendly staff I was informed of what is happening and made to feel at ease..
I was here yesterday as part of a clinic organized by my company and had a fantastic experience. It was my first time donating blood and everyone was so nice and patient with me - especially Gladys, who took the time to find a vein in my other arm when the first one was a little hard to find. Thanks again Gladys! They have all sorts of salty snacks to munch on before your donation, and a variety of sweet treats (plus juice and coffee) to enjoy afterward. If you need free wifi, that's available too. I'm really looking forward to coming here again!
