Didn't know that I would have to a "do it myself" repair! I had a Downsview kitchen installed in 2009, not a pleasant experience (the sales persons was unpleasant, she made mistakes with the product, not a happy time!), but we got through it. Recently we needed to replace a kick plate under a fridge due to water damage (as well as other parts for the kitchen). After many calls, emails, a pitch to purchase a dishwasher that the original sales person was now was selling, I brought the the damaged kick plate into the Downsview kitchen location. Six weeks and some 140 later, the pieces were ready. However, when I arrived home, I found much to my dismay that the new kick plate was too long. I contacted the sales person again, and was told (via email) "For the kick, it may need to be trimmed slightly but it is the size of material that we had here." She suggested that as it was a small job, I could hire someone to cut it; she had suggestions if I did not have a person to fit it. After many emails, the sales person sent me pictures and measurements of my original kick plate, suggesting that I was not correct in my measurements. The sales person said that the new kick plate was the same size as the one that I brought in. However, it was too big (see pictures below; kick plate under the fridge not fitting and the damaged kick plate on top of the longer new kick plate). I was completely disatisfied by this sales person at Downsview in Vancouver as there was no offer to fix the incorrect size of the kick plate. No suggestion to help fix it, just that she would give me names of someone that I could hire. This sales gal did get personal, and I contacted Downsview Toronto to get some satisfaction. At that point, I was told that I was "short" with her "gracious and accomodating" staff.
