After leaving Charm Diamond centre rather disappointed from the experience, I was pleasantly surprised with Peoples, they Happily assisted us and our needs. 2 Thumbs up

Very disappointed, I’ve bought lots of items from the peoples in the past and had no issues until recently. In July 2020 I put money down on an engagement ring for my girlfriend, I went into the store in August to put more money down on the ring and was told that peoples jewellers cancelled lay away plans due to COVID so I would get all my money back. That was fine but here it is the end of December 2020 and still have not received any of my money back. Each time I contact the store or go in to see where my money is I get the run around. The latest run around was on November 10 2020 when the manager said that a hand written cheque was being expedited from there head office in Texas. Still have not received any of my funds yet

My husband and I both purchased all our rings here. They have great service, remembered us when we came in time after time and always were so helpful and kind. Getting married as young as we are, we received a lot of judgement from other jewelry stores, but here they were so nice and encouraging. We will purchase from them for years to come!

My fiancé and I came looking for engagement and wedding rings. We both have medical exemptions from masks and although the initial employee we spoke with directed us in and began to show us their selection, she was soon rudely interrupted by someone I assume was a manager, given her superior and snobbish attitude. She snapped at us to get out, even though we both stated we have medical exemptions, and then proceeded to tear a strip off the poor employee who had tried to help us, loudly and in front of other customers. I have no respect for businesses who treat their employees this way and it’s also against Alberta Human rights to discriminate against people with medical disabilities. I have already filed a complaint with them against another business who thought they were above the law, and although I had hoped to not have to do that again, I may be filing one against this store as well. Had they treated us like human beings rather than a walking disease, we likely would have spent thousands in their store. Because they care more about a scrap of cloth than their customers, we will never shop their again. We have now spent the thousands of dollars we would have spent here at Michael Hill, because they are interested in being a business, not uppity bullies of people with disabilities. Michael Hill has always been great to us so we will always be going back to them now, for as long as they remain great. With so many businesses failing due to Covid restrictions, I sincerely hope People’s will be one of them, they don’t deserve even the customers they have!

My fiance bought a ring off the peoples website in April this year. Because of COVID we were unable to shop in store. We were very excited to go in to the store when they opened up. We were incredibly disappointed with the customer service and care. When we first walked up to the counter the 3 employees looked at us without acknowledging us. There was no "hello", "welcome" or "how can we help". My fiance finally opened up the conversation because they wouldn't. The three employees were eating cake at the front counter. They were eating it straight from the cake tray with 3 forks. We found it extremely unprofessional to see the employees eating in front of customers and around all the jewelry. Not to mention the implications of this during COVID. After some awkward glances at who would help us, one of the employees finally walked over to assist us. After being rudely told that resizing wasn't covered with our purchase (although we thought it was, since stores weren't open), we asked if they could inspect and clean the ring. They said they were unable to do that. Finally we asked to look at wedding bands. We tried on several different rings and none of them were sanitized before or after we tried them on. After shopping at other ring stores, we were uncomfortable with the lack of professionalism and sanitization happening in this store. One of the reasons we got the engagement ring from Peoples in the first place was because of their top rated customer service. We will not be buying any more merchandise from Peoples and we will be going to a different store for the resizing we need. If we were able to return the ring, we would. Had we been able to shop in store and not online, we never would have spent any money here based on this shopping experience. If you are someone who respects good customer service I recommend looking at a different store.
