My first visit to this iconic gallery. Art work beautifully arranged throughout facility. Truly impressed with indigenous masks, carvings and paintings. Group of 7 separated into various rooms showed how each on their own were brilliant but each influenced the others. Walked some of the pathways around the grounds but it would be even more beautiful in the summer.
Beautiful place, so relaxing. I went to see the Maud Lewis exhibit, which was wonderful. All the other works were very interesting as well. You really get the feel of Canadian art and landscape. Outside grounds are beautiful with sculptures and nature trails. And they have a restaurant inside. I didn’t eat there, but bought a coffee to go, and it was good. Next time will try their food.
Wonderful exhibits in addition to the main attraction of the Group of Seven display. Such a beautiful representation of Canadian artists in a perfect setting. When you look through the windows of the gallery in this fall season, it feels like you are in a real-life Group of Seven landscape. Such a relaxing venue in this time of Covid. Thank-you, McMichael Gallery. What a treasure!
