Added the Trail Loop strictly for a longer and more elevation gain to the see the Othello Tunnels. Starting with the climb from the parking lot was recommended by others. The actual trail is not that exciting but added to the fitness component which took approximately 45 minutes. The real scenery was at the Tunnels and River. Did bring headlamps but did not really need them as it was a bright day. Brought a light snack and ate down by the river between the Tunnels. A bit of climbing was needed to get down to the water. Went on a Friday so it was not that busy. Saw a few dogs and all were on leash. Enjoy the hike!

Where the map takes you is the side of the road. I would give negative stars if I could.
This is a great hike beside the tunnels. It's a beginner level hike that climbs around 200 meters and then back down to join the tunnels trail and is around 3.5 km. During the summer you can complete a loop through the tunnels but from November to the end of May you need to turn around and go back over the trail as the tunnels are closed.
Absolutely beautiful! Othello Tunnels and Kettle Valley Trail are the perfect combo!
