A fantastic UNESCO site. Excellent documentation and collection of indigenous people’s tools. And excellent movie describing the how’s and why’s there was a buffalo jump. It’s really an eye opener. They have a nice shop, elevators, a small ‘restaurant’. Parking is down the hill. BUT don’t worry. There is a shuttle that will carry you up to the level near the door. IF it has rained recently, I do not recommend taking AB-785 from the south. Take the long way. If you look at pictures of our truck, you will understand why I say this. It’s a gravel road. This is an eye opening visit. Visit if you can.

I've wanted to visit head smashed in Buffalo jump since I was 9 years old. I was so excited to finally get the chance. It was everything I hoped it could be. The museum was very well done, and I loved the top down learning style. The trails surrounding the information centre are well maintained. The guides are wonderful and well informed. I was so happy to finally get to this beautiful world heritage site.

Informative and interesting look at Alberta's history and the way of life in the area. Excellent and friendly experts in the museum providing insights and explanations. Well laid out really taking you on a journey through times past with artifacts, dioramas, historical photos and mock ups. Beautiful short and long hiking trails that showcase the beauty of the region and the key locations of site.

Great place to know about the history and surviving skills of native people. The building structure is also amazing, feels like five-story building is completely inside the rock.

Didn't get eaten by a bear or a cougar which is nice (there's a sign which had me worried). Aside from being a fascinating piece of history, Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump is a worthwhile drive out of Calgary to see the prairie. The view from the upper trail is beautiful and the lower trail takes you through a field of the famous Alberta wild roses. The museum is enormously interesting. The only downside I've found is that nobody believes me when I explain the whole premise to them (especially when they hear the name). If you drive back to Calgary afterwards, the Homestead bakery in Fort McLeod does absolutely outrageous pastries that are worth stopping for.

Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump is always a place to go for me. Every time I have visitors I take them here. It’s so interesting to learn about the history of people native to this land and about the respect they had for the beautiful animals that buffalo are. It’s for sure a place you shouldn’t miss.

Excellent experience for the whole family. There is much to see and do, including going for a hike to the jump sites, watching videos on the history of the peoples and this area, and artifacts of the people and the time. We went for National Indigenous People's day and it was well worth it.
