The most dangerous place I have ever worked at. Don't be enticed by the money. They try every way possible not to give it to you. A worker just died working there and the Health and Safety is non existent. Even the union doesn't give too much care to its members. Avoid working here if you like being treated like a human

I am an employee here at this facility. It is a great facility in its production of train cars as well as its providing of gainful employment for its thousands of employees.

Called to make a complaint about a switch that was taking at least (and I'm not exaggerating) 30 minutes. Talk to the receptionist who gave me a kind of funny sound when she found out what it was and then put me through to the main gate. Talk to the guard at the main gate it was a total a-hole when I explained it to him. And then the a-hole hung up on me mid sentence. What can you expect from Neanderthals!!!!

Worked there as a welder, no previous experience welding they hired me as a welder trainee. Put me through a 2 week in house training course (unpaid) As soon as I started I realized the training provided was not enough to meet expectations. I was put in turnover, one of the hardest jobs in the place fresh out of school. I had to weld the inside of train cars, everyone else doing my job had been there for 5 years and had no patience to teach. I asked for an easier position to improve my welding but they told me I couldn't switch until I had 1 year seniority

Honestly I'm at a loss as to how to rate this one, but for the moment I'll concentrate on the Art Deco/Art Moderne style entrance building alone. Definitely a yellow & green gem in the neighbourhood which is perpetually anthracite. Maybe this is the entrance to Hades. While not a period building, this entrance to National Steel Car stands out in a city with many architecturally significant buildings from the 1920-30's. Why there is a chain link fence surrounding this structure with painted signage on the buildings is unknown. The company itself was founded in 1912 and is renown for the rolling stock they produce. This rivals the Pierce Arrow Museum and the Frank Lloyd Wright gas station in Buffalo for sheer beauty.
