Hello folks, Mississippi Queen was recommended to me by a Hamiltonian I know very well. I have been waiting for some time to taste these highly recommended pies. I must say that driving from Niagara Falls On to pick up two pecan pies along with a bag of pecan pralines candy is absolutely worth it. I love the way your home made crust is folded inward, your pastry dough tastes hardy, your filling has has such a sweet savory taste that one can taste the love you put into your creations. As well your pecan glazed topping is to die for. The bag of candied pecan pralines was amazing, it was gone before I reached home. I highly recommend Mississippi Queens menu of cuisine. I will defiantly return to enjoy Connie's cuisine again.

We enjoyed another delicious takeout meal on Friday night. During 'normal times', Connie (the talented owner/chef/host/blues lover!), books Southern Suppers in her cozy restaurant. Dinners served family style and includes live blues musicians! At this time, she's offering delicious takeout meals at very reasonable prices. Open Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Dinner combos with chicken, jambalaya, catfish...yum...many options on the website! Highly recommended. Please continue to support our local, independent restaurants.
Definitely fresh food made with love! The smoked beans were my absolute favourite. The mac n cheese is cheesy and well-balanced. I would have liked a bit more spice in the fried chicken, but I get some people don't like it. The hot sauce made up for it. It was also one of the flakiest biscuits I've ever had.
Enjoyed a southern dinner here for Mardi Gras. This little restaurant is a true gem! It is a small size but big in personality. Connie is so good with her customers. The live music for the evening (Ragwax) was excellent!! We enjoyed the food and the flavors were good but we felt there was not enough food served. This restaurant serves their meals family style, which is fine for us, just wish there was more. The decor is so fitting! We had a very nice evening!
Well, we tried Mississippi Queen Foods for the first time tonight....and we loved it! We got the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Combo and the Blackened Chicken entree. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside with a fantastic tasting crust that was not greasy at all! The chicken was tender and moist, cooked perfectly. This definitely beat the fried chicken we had when we last visited Savannah Georgia! The Blackened Chicken were boneless thighs. Don’t be afraid, the blackening spice was not overly hot at all and very nicely flavoured (hot sauce on the side). Again, moist and tender chicken. The 3 sides that came with the combo fed both my wife and I. Mac and Cheese, excellent, using cheddar cheese, the potato salad, mmm, red beans with rice and sausage had a warm kick I really enjoyed. So, yes, we will go back!! Thanks Connie, a great job and thanks for the help to the car! (Sorry too hungry so no pics!)
Amazing food that truly blew us away! Straight up comfort food if you ever need it. My wife isn’t even really into southern fare but she absolutely loved it! We’ll be going back, probably sooner than later.
We recently moved to Hamilton and tried this restaurant for the first time for my birthday dinner. The food was fantastic! We had the fried chicken, the blackened catfish, the jambalaya and a variety of sides. Everything was wonderful, hot and fresh. We will definitely be back for takeout, and in person once the lockdown is over.
