Many of the auto industry charges are very costly and opaque (because most people don’t know cars very much, many shops will let you change something you don’t need), but this shop is very friendly and fair the price is very transparent, they are even free Polished the damaged area. They will generate very detailed reports, very patiently tell you why these things need to be replaced and how they work, and let you make your own decisions. Very honest business！！
Excellent service at the Downtown Auto Specialist shop, they fixed up my 9 year old car for a fair price and now it’s like a new one. Forget about other car mechanics. I am extremely impressed with the high level of courtesy and professionalism I experienced at Downtown Auto. My car and I were in a difficult jam, and these gentlemen helped out enormously. This was my first time at Downtown Auto but I will be returning.
Brian and the staff are not only very friendly and fair in pricing, they go above and beyond to ensure your vehicle is running safely. I have been storing my tires with their shop for a few years now, and their prices are unbeatable and they also take excellent care of the tires. I was recently told by my dealership and another shop (outside of Hamilton that I was gifted an oil change with) that I needed brake pads and my brakes replaced ASAP. I was surprised to hear this as my car is not driven often or very far and was told during an inspection of the vehicle back in the fall that everything was in great condition other than needing new winter tires next season. The Downtown Auto Specialist advised me that I did not need anything other than a couple minor things (i.e bolts and bulbs) and that I would need new winter tires for next season, which I already was aware of. They were honest with me about not needing to replace the brakes and brake pads which I was so thankful for their honesty as it was going to be a financial burden on me, especially now. My father used to do all of our automotive work as he was trained in this area and since his passing, I am so glad we found this shop because they are fair, honest, do excellent work, and I know I am in good hands and that they will only do the work my vehicle needs versus overcharge for work that may not be needed. Shops can take advantage of my lack of automotive knowledge and this just confirms that I am able to put my full trust into this shop. I have recommended them to my family who also utilize them for tire storage, tune-ups, and automotive work and they are also very happy customers. Thank you Brian and staff for ensuring my vehicle is running safely and always answering my questions with a friendly demeanour. Grateful to have such an awesome automotive center located in the heart of Hamilton.
