Generally quick to respond but have they ever written a traffic ticket? Drivers in this town are the worst. Running red lights is a daily occurrence here. Stops signs mean nothing here.

3 issues I have with the Halton Police. 1. My wife got hit by a car and they did nothing to resolve the issue except for harass her at the hospital coaxing a statement out of her while she was under medication at the hospital. They couldn't be bothered to arrest the driver. I guess they were upset about taking their time away from Timmy's. I'll never forgive them for that. 2. They pulled me over for allegedly not stopping at a stop sign. I fought them in court and won the case. They didn't have the right notes and frankly, the prosecution and the cop, who all showed up for all 3 times I did, were still disorganized. What a waste of time and that just costs the taxpayers money. For the record, I did fully stop at the stop sign like I ALWAYS do but I guess they have quotas to meet to make money - if that means making up phoney citations, I guess that's what they have to do. 3. I got a red light ticket during a very slippery and wet day. The car in front of me suddenly stopped and I tried to as well to not crash but they had to go through the intersection. Think they care? Nope. Gotta make cash. I am against people who run red lights but this was an extreme circumstance that I took time out of my day to fight. They are just bullies. How about solving real crimes instead of gouging the public to help fund your way overpaid salaries? I have way more respect for the US cops who have to deal with tough situations and way more often everyday. Lastly, there are ethical and nice cops out there - I know a few of them.

(this is part two of two of the review by edward j janzen) so what happened the next night? well, a patrol car entered the parking lot about 3:30 am ... stopped the vehicle, about 30 feet from where i was dancing, turned off the lights; and remained there till i vacated the area and found someplace else to go. these are 'cops being cowboys' and they are in every city and town that i have been in, this past decade. someone like myself who just doesn't 'fit into the herd', someone who can't be controlled the way most people are; are subjected to policing that has become a 'law unto itself'; and it matters not if one is law-abiding; the police officer of today, has become, 'the law'. so when you hear and read of police injustice; when you read or hear of people who are vilified by law enforcement because of their gender, sexual orientation, or belief; understand that the police officer is not there to protect your rights; the police officer is not there to uphold the 'rule of law'. the police officer is there to 'control the situation', by whatever means possible; and to make determinations not based on the rule of law, but on the views of the police officers, themselves.
