Northern Paving replaced our driveway in 2015. We had tree root issues. They did a great job with a proper footing and dealt with the tree issue while keeping the trees alive. The bed for the driveway was at least feet deep with a solid 3” asphalt top. Five years later and we’ve had no issues. I’m writing this today as I was just looking up their contact info to ask them about another job. I was shocked to see such a low rating as this was absolutely not our experience.

Affordable Professional Easy Stress Free On time and on budget, working with Northern Paving did not take much work at all and the job was completed exactly how I asked. I called the office and 2 hours later I had my residential driveway measured and a very competitive quote in my hand. I called the major competitor in Guelph who priced the job for 60% more. On first appearances Northern Paving did a very good job. The driveway and interlocking brick entrance they did for me looked good. I was pleased with how the project turned out. It wasn't until a year later that problems started to occur. The city of Guelph informed that the water shut off valve to my house (the one by the sidewalk that every house has) had been paved over. The driveway needs to be dug up to raise the valve to grade. The paving over the valve was likely done on purpose. For whatever reason Northern decided it was easier to pave over the valve than it was to raise it. If they are willing to do something like that on purpose it makes you wonder what other short cuts they may have taken. Northern had every opportunity to rectify this situation. Repeated calls to the office had the secretary assuring me that someone from Northern would look into it. I have never been contacted by anyone from Northern to discuss options or repair.
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. We paid 4500 plus tax on this driveway which has had issues since within a week of it being done. We followed all the directions given and then some. The driveway was done right before the heat wave thus could very well be no ones fault however, it has some indents that collect water that need to be fixed. We have been calling for over 2 months and have offered to pay for the repairs as we just want the driveway to look good however all they tell us is \its not our fault\ even though they haven't taken the time to have a look at it, followed by \he will come look\ ... it's been two months.. Not a way to end a legacy. We would have expected more pride in their work and customer satisfaction.
Very rude and unprofessional. They do not take responsibility for crappy work.
