It isn't perfect, sometimes you will encounter issues, just as you would with any summer camp. But learing to sail is a fairly unique experience for this province, and this is certainly one of the best places to send your kids for camp, let alone for a person to learn how to sail in general. In my years of lessons I saw many shy kids thrive socially in the welcoming environment the instructors foster. While both my sister and I were not thrilled initially with the idea of the camp (having had many poor camp experiences in the past) both she and I had a lot of fun in our respective classes, and made new friends every year. The camp mixes a lot of aspects, theory, technical skills, and physical activity (typically in the form of camp games), but the priority of the instructors has always been to maximize time on the water. However, even when the weather does not permit, they somehow find something productive to do. Also, at the end of each week they do a fun themed event. Things to keep in mind: -dress for the weather -don't wear open-toed shoes or crocks (unless you fancy an injury) -You may not fall in, but YOU WILL GET WET. bring a change of clothes (warmer than the first), and a small towel. -drink lots of water -triple check that you aren't bringing your phone on the boat or dock. -If your sunglasses don't stay on your face well, you might as well throw them in the reservoir right now. Oh and... if your shoes get wet, wash them (or at least soak them in soapy water) as soon as you get home. It may get turned into drinking water... but until then, it does NOT smell good a day or so later.

The guy with the nifty sunglasses was great, nay, amazing. He demanded respect and authority, results were clearly guaranteed. 10/10.

Staff dealing my kid is very brutal of time management. They don't even check the weather report ahead of time. So today in the beautiful blue sky morning, they didn't even get a chance to sail in the reservoir, poor kids spent an hour doing push up sort of physical preparation, and indoor activities. Of course there's thunderstorm in the afternoon, nothing interesting happened. What a waste time! It was 30 Celsius yesterday, I told one of the instructor to make sure kid have enough water breaks when I dropped off kid in the morning. It turned out I talked to air surprisedly. I had been sent kid to different camps previous year, like Kyle Shewfelt Gymnastics camp, their staff are very well trained to taking care of kids. Compare with service quality they provided, this sailing school is FAIL!

I was at this school's 50th anniversary July 25, 2015.. My family and I wanted to have a feel of this school before my son turns 7 to enrol for a program. Unfortunately, my kids and I left disappointed. We got there right on time at 10am, the start of the program. i read online that there was no need for preregistration and there would be free boat rides and lessons. On getting there, i met a long list of people on a paper already booked for the rides and we were turned back right away on the spot! The rep said the rides have been fully booked. No explanation. I asked to see the instructor, one Braden (or so, not sure of the name), he said some people had call in to register. imagine travelling from NW to SW only to be turned back without a good explanation. He told me to hang around just in case something comes up. One of the instructors later slotted us for 2pm ride. At 2pm, we still couldnt get on. you can imagine dashing the hopes of young kids below 6 years old with high expectations. At some minutes to 3pm, the instructor came up to announce the end of the program because of the weather. This is rather unfortunate. My kids were heartbroken and downcasted as we left. Infact, my son that is anticipating going for sailing classes next year immediately changed his mind. I had to encourage him not to be distracted. It was a sad and quiet ride home. Please confirm their activities before going. There was BBQ, I didnt go there for that anyway
