Though it is in the middle of nowhere, it is still a surprisingly nice place to live. It is a great, thriving community. People are very welcoming and seem to care about the area. Sure, you may not be able to find a place to hang out at 2 a.m. and shopping is dismal, but it has amazing outdoor spaces and the MFRC cares so much about the military families they serve. I can't tell you about individual experiences, but it is one place that if you put the effort in, you will get it fivefold back.

A good place to visit if you happen to be driving by and would like to visit a Canadiam Armed Forces Garrison, home of the warriors. In the summer time you can camp at the Black Bear camp grounds or visit Jubilee Lodge on the water front for kayak or canoe rentals. The base museum is also open. Please check times of operation prior to visit.
If you're considering a posting here, you may also want to consider releasing. Worst base i've ever been to. All that happens here is officers make you do parades so they can jerk eachother off about the running track they spent all their money on that barely anyone uses. One lane on and off the base means when you're released after a hard day of putting up with superiors who have to read with their fingers under the words, you then have to wait 45 minutes in traffic so you can get back to your government housing to drink away the rest of your night before you do it all over again.
