Andrew is a great piano teacher! He is very thorough in teaching technique and building a great foundation when teaching. Andrew was my teacher during senior piano and I have learned to pay attention to the little details in playing the piano and be dedicated to every little part of the piece so that I can receive distinctions in piano music festivals. If you want that extra edge on your competitors, Andrew is your guy and he will help you succeed. He is also a very personable human being and gets to know you and figures out your strengths and weaknesses and supports you throughout your struggles. Taking piano lessons with Andrew is fun and enjoyable but he is also dedicated to help you do your best. Other than the curriculum, he has introduced me to multiple different genres of music not just classical, and these pieces that I've learned are quick and easy, and they are there to broaden your horizons and just have fun playing some popular music. Andrew is an awesome piano teacher, who is also someone I would call a friend. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn music.

Andrew is an excellent piano teacher who I credit for developing my piano playing skills in depth. I took lessons from Andrew for about 5 years, and he was able to really make appreciate and enjoy playing and learning classical music! He is one of those teachers who genuinely care about the growth of every student and will make sure to always check up on your progress. I also really liked how he helped me learn pieces that were not part of the required curriculum, as he wanted his students to be able to play the music that they wanted to play. Andrew is really easy to get along with and you will feel comfortable learning piano from him!

I would highly recommend Andrew as a piano teacher! I have taken piano lessons under Andrew's instruction since 2009, and he has been instrumental in teaching me the fundamentals of piano, as well as in evolving the style and character of my piano playing and performances. Andrew's teaching has been crucial in my completion of the Grade 9 RCM Practical Exam in piano, as well as the complimentary music theory. Over the years, Andrew has not only become my favourite and most influential music teacher, but also a close friend. I have always loved his energy, kindness, humour and patience, and these qualities have translated to a most enjoyable music learning experience!

Andrew is an amazing piano teacher!!! I've been playing at his studio for the past 10 years and the experience has been absolutely incredible. Andrew has made my journey playing piano both exciting and memorable. His form of teaching is very effective, creative and adaptive. I would reccomend his teaching to anyone who desires to learn piano. The illustrations he uses when teaching have made a huge impact on the way i view music. I even remember the illustrations he used on our first lesson 10 years, and i still use them to this very day. I'll never forget the wonderful experience ive had being a student for his studio and i sincerely hope that more will be able to experience how amazing Andrew is as a instructor. -Rebekah

Andrew was the perfect teacher for me. As a not particularly gifted, 60 year old beginner, the challenges for a teacher were many. Consistently over a seven year period, Andrew lovingly, patiently, but rigorously advanced me through the stages of the RCM piano curriculum. Always flexible, he met all of my physical and psychological barriers with creative and state of the art instruction while relentlessly insisting on musicality, technique and theory. Finally my old joints couldn’t take it so I transferred many musical skills to a community choir but forever I will credit Andrew with moving me from an amateur know-nothing to an actual musician with skills. He does not suffer fools but I am a testament to his willingness to apply his considerable repertoire of teaching methods to any student willing to learn. It’s very difficult for me to imagine anyone better suited to encourage and mentor any serious student to their highest and best level.

After working as a full-time music producer for a number of years, I felt like I had hit a wall in my work, and decided to take on learning the piano as a way to breathe some new life into my creative process and up my musical skillset. I’ve now been taking Skype lessons with Andrew for over two years, and it’s been incredible to see the progress that I’ve made with his guidance and help. He really took the time to understand what I wanted out of playing the piano on a personal level, and has helped me set and reach my goals time and again. Even after coming this far, it still only feels like only the beginning! Committing yourself to learn an instrument is a serious challenge, and it’s so crtitical that you have the right person leading you down the right path. Andrew’s depth of musical knowledge and passion for teaching are truly a rarity. I can’t recommend him enough to anyone who is considering going on their very own “piano journey”. To all you aspiring pianists - good luck!
