I met Brent (and Vicky) on Sunshine village this year. I just got into ski touring and saw them skinning up Goats Eye. I asked them a few questions and they were very eager and helpful answering them. I decided to do my AST 1 through Peak Stratagem with Brent and I found it very enjoyable and informative. Later in the season I decided to complete my AST 2 as well over the course of two weekends with Brent (and Vicky). Brent was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Again, the days during the course were very enjoyable and informative. Not only did I learn a lot, I also really enjoyed the course. Brent is an exceptional instructor and guide and I highly recommend Peak Stratagem.

Personable, great guide to work with. Guides you into becoming your own problem solver. He gives you the right tools and instruction to think critically about your decision-making in the mountains. That’s a skill more valuable than any athletic or technical skill. And they’re a hoot to boot! ;-)
I did a one day Backcountry Ski Technique course with Brent and it was awesome. My skiing really did improve from a single day of instruction. I am looking at doing more courses with Peak Stratagem in the future as Brent's enthusiasm for sharing knowledge was excellent.
Have used Peak for 3 days of 1 on 1 guiding to work on Trad and Alpine skills. Brent and Maarten know my goals and have set up a good mentorship type program for myself. They spend time on developing your skills and suggesting improvements. Very excited to continue this relationship.

Peak is an awesome guiding company. I have been on 3 instructional backcountry ski courses with Brent and will hire him again. One of the courses had a terrible white out on the Wapta and Brent's coaching was perfect for keeping the team focused and getting us to the next hut safely. Another course saw us summit the President and Vice President in Yoho National Park from Stanley Mitchel Hut. These courses have helped me taking my backcountry skiing and terrain management skills from an intermediate level to advanced.
Brent and the rest of the team at PeakSyratagem are very professional, knowledgeable and an absolute delight. Over the past few months we have had Brent and his team guide a couple of ski touring and mountaineer adventures. Brent’s guiding style ensures that we have learned all of the essential skills and we couldn’t be more pleased with the result. The only downside we could find is that Brent has yet to harness an ability to control the weather on our trips, which we were willing to forgive him for as we always have a ton of fun even in a whiteout or rain. In addition, if you are lucky enough to get him to guide your trip, make sure to ask him about PeakEats.
Ive been out with Brent and team on several trips, and courses. Brent brings a high level of training to all of his programs, preparing the recreationalist to take more steps on their own. It's been a pleasure to learn from him, and, hang out in the backcountry. I'll draw up another review for PeakEats - but that also is highly recommended.
