Customer service was terrific (courteous greeters, pleasant sales associate) up until the point of purchase. When I inquired about the discount for dance students, the woman (with short grey-hair, glasses) behind the counter informed me that this was no longer available, and that they had stopped offering the discount in March because business has not been great due to COVID. I suggested that she contact the dance schools to let them know, because it is still advertised on their websites. As a first time buyer of ballet slippers, I decided to support this local business, instead of going online. I wasn't bothered that I wouldn't get a discount, but annoyed at how this was communicated. The dance schools are promoting this business on their sites; to not contact them to let them know that the discount is no longer offered is pretty lazy. Upon my suggestion that she let these partners know, the woman blah blah blahed about how busy she has been and how every one is having a tough time and how she hasn't been in touch with the dance school. Not my problem. It's September. You've had six months to send them a quick email. If you are having a tough time and worried about staying competitive, just having a decent selection of products is not enough. Consider demonstrating a little courtesy to your customers and own up for not following up with other business that have been referring you. There may have been a time when you were the only business in the area and dancers felt they had no choice but to come to you. But you're not anymore. And there are definitely shops out there that aren't run by grumpypants.

A great place in Etobicoke for local dancers, the staff are very well versed in the dance community and know which shoes are needed for each specific class. They ensured that my daughter was fit correctly and that she would still have room to grow without sacrificing performance or comfort. This is appreciated especially when spending 300 on tap shoes. I look forward to hearing hours of practice.

This is the go to for dance supplies such as tights, leotard, ballet shoes, and accessories. It's easy to find, there's lots of parking available and the hours of operation are very convenient. The staff are super friendly and ready to answer any and all questions you have. They go out of their way to be helpful, with a sincere and honest approach, and have lots of patience in dealing with their clientele. For a Bloor Street location, I also found their prices, for the most part, quite competitive, along with sales racks for those willing to go through them. Highly recommended.

I usually go here for my dance wear, but when I went most recently I felt very pressured. The lady working there was a little bit sexist, saying the way one shoe on me looked more masculine and I should go with the other shoe, that looked more feminine. I was uncomfortable and ended up going with the \feminine\ one. I will admit that it feels nice, but the other shoe felt very similar. I would appreciate if the lady that works there would be more flexible, and kind of let the customer decide what feels and looks right for them.
