I recently adopted my new cat, Pilot, from EHS and the whole process from start to finish was fantastic. Everyone I talked to, including the foster who was looking after this cat, was very friendly yet professional, and clearly cared a lot about making sure that every animal goes to the best possible home. Multiple interviews, including an opportunity to virtually meet the cat and foster, let the adoption coordinators evaluate that my home would be appropriate for Pilot while making sure I had a good understanding of what to expect of him. The process worked well, and I'm very fortunate to have as wonderful a cat as Pilot in my life now!

A wonderful place to adopt your future furry family member. From the time of application to the adoption pickup; it was a very pleasant experience. Such amazing, friendly staff to guide you through the whole adoption process. All the members are always there if you need any assistance after the the adoption too!! I strongly recommend EHS when choosing to adopt.

I am VERY impressed with this rescue!!! We adopted Mystique a few months ago and the through the process you could see how much they care for the animals. Seems like the people who give bad reviews don't think cats and dogs deserve to be treated as valuable living things. Unlike Toronto animal services and other rescues where people just pick out cats regardless of them being a great match or not , the volunteers at EHS ensure that the cat goes to the right home. Thank you!

I'm so disappointed with EHS. I, like many others, am looking for furry friend to complete my home. I know they are getting an influx of applications due to the pandemic, but their workers are so incredibly disinterested in helping you it's sad.. I have had cats all my life and am a very experienced cat owner. I have applied for countless cats and am constantly being rejected or immediately being told to just look elsewhere without ever receiving a real answer to my applications. I completely understand that they are wanting to ensure that they're cats all go to safe homes, but they truly don't even give you a chance before they tell you to go somewhere else. Not only that, they also take up to a week to ever even get back to you. The process is dragged out for absolutely no reason. And now, from reading other reviews, I see that they reject you for saying you would bring a cat outside on a leash while supervised. I'm sorry but that is absolutely ridiculous and arbitrary reason to reject an application. There is no reason that a kitty couldn't be outside, while supervised, on a leash! It is no different than bringing a dog outside on a leash! Don't waste your time here. There are several other cat rescues that will actually work WITH you in your adoption process instead of against you. I would recommend the Annex Cat Rescue over these people any day.

Fostering a cat right now with EHS - if you're ever looking to adopt, foster or volunteer here, you'll find a group of extremely dedicated, professional folks who genuinely care about their animals and go the extra mile to make sure they are happy and get the best possible care. All supplies are provided, social distancing precautions in place, and the communication from foster coordinators is fantastic, making our first time fostering as easy and stress-free as possible. Could not recommend them enough!
