My son learns flute since 9 years old while we were in Calgary. We moved to Edmonton in 2016 and looking for a new good flute teacher. Luckily we met Mrs. Gold here. My son is shy. But he really enjoys coming to Mrs. Gold's studio. As parents, we don't know too much about music. But we noticed after only an year or so, my son's skill improved a lot, we never had this feeling when he is with the previous teacher in Calgary. And each time he is done the play in the studio, he becomes very chatty on the way home, or exciting. Mrs. Gold even mention to us my son is often joking with her, which surprises us too. To be honest, we rarely push our son to play music. He is very naturally taking his pace. Mrs. Gold also communicate with us about everything and try her best to fit in our need. My son now quit the regular private as he is too busy with other stuff. But it is such a hard decision for him and took him almost 3 months to finally pull the trigger. He will find spare time to come back for some on-demand/flexible lessons from Mrs. Gold.

My son has been learning flute with Dorie for more than 8 years. He really enjoys Dorie’s teaching. He didn’t know anything about flute at the beginning and now is capable to perform a lot of complex songs. Dorie is the most experienced flute teacher in town and is always very patient to kids. She never pushes kids too much but goes with each individual’s own rhythm gradually. She also communicates with parents very often to let parents how is the progress of the kids. My son played flute every year at the talent show of his elementary school and now plays in his junior high school band. He likes Dorie and will continue to learn from her as long as possible. I recommend Dorie without any reservation.
Dorie Gold is a highly knowledgeable and proficient flute instructor. As an adult student, I appreciate her willingness to discuss challenges I have faced and her ability to suggest simple, effective solutions. A number of times, these have enabled me to take significant steps forward. I also appreciate her cheerful attitude and willingness to adapt her teaching to my musical and learning style preferences. I would strongly recommend Dorie Gold.
Dorie is an absolutely excellent teacher. She is gentle and fun and yet is able to challenge my daughter to work hard. I'm constantly impressed with her way with kids. And she clearly knows her stuff. The icing on the cake? Dorie is experienced and comfortable with online lessons. I'd give six stars if I could.
Nice view, easily accessible, very cozy. The teacher there is also very nice, and patient. Very well ventilated, and spaced out for space in practice. Good precautions during the pandemic, and very sterile. Have been working under this teacher for 4 years, would recommend.
We like the quality and professional teaching of Dorie's studio. You can tell what the students have achieved from the recitals held a few times per year. Her teaching is well organized so kids can be guided through different levels of the RCM exams. Good value for the money we pay compared to what we've learned. She is prompt for communications and sends out friendly reminder for events such as recital, payments etc. Strongly recommend this studio if you would like to be a flute player.
Wonderful teacher. Dorie spares no effort to achieve the advancement of her students and always puts motivation as the main element to achieve it
