I'm doing my placement here and love it. We keep older adults busy with purposeful activities to keep their physical, social, emotional, cognitive states from degeneration and or decline. It's important for society to take care of the elderly because of their contributions to society, and just because it's the human thing to do. As a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist I am to assess barriers that is keeping a person for live life to their fullest, plan ways for they to achieve their goals, implement the goal through first education then practice, evaluate if all was achieved, lastly reassess and make changes where necessary so the person can grow into their new skill independently.
