First time ordering from here and was extremely impressed with the quality of food and service. Ordered the regular fried chicken 12 pieces which came with the onion creamy sauce (delicious) and coleslaw. Food was ready and hot at pickup and employee was very friendly. Chicken is tender and moist with just the right amount of spice. Pieces are not as big as other fried chicken places but quality makes up for it. Will order again and try some other dishes but this is definitely my go to place for fried chicken from now on!!

This review is for the fried chicken at Restaurant Matjip. The chicken is crispy and juicy but not overly greasy. The crispy texture is definitely Korean style, similar to the style you would find at your favorite Korean fried chicken destination. Has a little kick of spice in the background but even if you aren't big on spicy food, you should have nothing to worry about here. A lot of the flavors I taste coming through seem to be herbs/seasoning (which you can see cooked into the batter). The coleslaw is not of the creamy variety (so maybe more of a vinegar type), and actually tastes kind of sweet. The creamy onion sauce is also kind of sweet and a nice flavor, although I did find myself enjoying the chicken a bit more without it (although I often like my fried chicken as is, without any sauces or dips). While the flavor of the sauce is nice, it can overpower the chicken if you dip too deeply but little dips can add a nice dimension of flavor. All in all, I very much enjoyed the the fried chicken from Restaurant Matjip. It is similar to other Korean fried chicken, especially in texture but still unique in the flavors compared to other places I have tried. I would definitely eat again.

The fried chicken with garlic soy sauce was perfect. Probably the best one I had so far in Montreal. The porc special and the spicy pork are both awesome! I would order from this restaurant again!

Just discovered this amazing Korean restaurant. Was craving for some Korean fried chicken this cold winter day and boy did this place satisfied my tummy. Huge portion of you order the matjip special. It came with different fried chicken and generous sides. DEFINITELY a must if you are a big Korean fried chicken kinda person. The order came with a sample of their creamy ognion dipping sauce and it was a delish!
