Horrible company. I got into a fender bender in a parking lot. I explain what happen and they said 100 percent my fault. 2 weeks later they closed my policy and kick me out saying I'm high risk in my driving profile. So I went to The Cooperators told them what happen and they gave me a better policy and plan than Coseco. Kinda sad you both companies working together but can't keep your customers.

When I call COSECO I get good customer service and pretty reasonable pricing. I am sad to see that COOPERATORS customer service will now take over once my policy is done. Spent 30 mins on the phone with a cooperators rep which was quite possibly the rudest and least helpful interaction I've ever had; I was then transferred to COSECO as my policy had not expired so their customer service took over, whole matter over in 10 mins extremely helpful and stress free. COOPERATORS will not match my pricingI had with COSECO once the policy expires, looks like I'll be going elsewhere
I've been with this company for over 20 years (they were the insurance company that covered Toronto Police - my father was with them) as a teen and now well into adulthood. Over the years, the company has proven one consistent fact - they are awesome....UNTIL you actually need them for anything. Once you file a claim - regardless of your history, they will do everything possible to avoid payment, nickle and dime and make you fight for things that most other companies consider to be \basic\. For example. my wife was legally parked at my kid's school and was hit by a driver who didn't have a license or insurance. He had several outstanding warrants and was driving a vehicle who's brakes and steering gave away (hence the crash). Luckily my wife and kids were away from the vehicle at the time, but when I called the insurance company, they were more interested in insisting that I would only get 50% for the two child seats (1 was 6 months old and the other was 3 years old and were both selling for exactly what I paid for them), than trying to help me figure out how I would get the wife and kids home without an operational vehicle or car seats on one of the coldest days of the year! I ended up becoming quite vocal with the rep handling the call and insisted she never speak with me again - for anything. I then spoke with the management who \understood\ where I was coming from but wanted me to understand they were in a tough situation because the other person doesn't have insurance - They eeded to make it up somehow\. I ended up hanging up on them (called back later and escalated this to the their internal ombudsman - under the threat of going to the provincial ombudsman if this wasn't dealt with appropriately. All it took was 2 levels of escalations, countless hours of on the phone, ridiculous amounts of stress - JUST to be treated with an ounce of dignity, for a situation that was in no way shape or form our fault. Buyer Beware!
You simply could not do any better for both rates and service. I used to dread having to call our previous provider, but find that every time I call with an inquiry, the call is answered quickly, the conversation is very pleasant, and they are very efficient - if they say \I will send this to you\ you can count on it appearing in your email box (or mailbox, as may be the case) shortly thereafter. Claims are handled just as efficiently, and this is the first time we ever experienced an insurance company being genuinely concerned first with your well-being rather than saving the last dollar. Everything is explained kindly and patiently, and follow-through is great. Rates were right in line or even less than others, so I cannot recommend them highly enough!
