I've been a staff at a home in Durham Region for almost 5 years (January 2016) and it's always been a solid agency to work for. Management is flexible and accommodating with my full-time job. There is also a ton of collaboration with the team and the feedback of staff really matters.

I have never attended this western residential school that abuses children while in restraints..this past weekend i was witness to a broken fragmented system....why isn't there a holistic mental health mobile crisis team for kids in the evening and weekends.!!! I was trumatized watching my 12 year old daughter being restrained from police and hospital. Being witness to such a horrible trumatic event for my daughter..I also listened to the reviews of the past warriors who survived this treatment place..I belive what they went through!! Stay away from this place!..people generally take reviews seriously when making a decision that will affect their childrens life...I read these reviews and I believe every word..why would the CEO of this place be living in a million dollar home while unsuitable nieve staff members are hired for the positions to work with these youth..these people do the minimum requirement for the funders ...this place hires unseasoned workers which are specifically chosen to have less than average work experience, fresh out of college or university with zero work experience..or people who have no lived experiences or anything relateable to these youth..if the youth get better the services would not get more money...they help a smidget very small percentage of youth to please funders expectations.. they continue to receive the money train and more youth are damaged and the kid is another statistic for funding and the oppressed system continues..dont forget about the executive directors and CEOs are living a good life, carefree, good future.. but look at how many lives he ruined to gain his success..absolutely disgusting SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!advocate for more mobile crisis mental health teams for children!!!!!

Loved working with nature and animals in the barns...didn't love being woken up at 2am to go chip ice and snow (2ft thick) off the driveway because someone had stolen food the previous day and used group punishment to drive the guilty out...was in the main house...then moved out to the private house on Wellers Bay with only 3 kids other than myself...was a special locale away from the main population...spent a year and a half there...comparible with boot camp

I was in Bayfield many years ago back in I think 1988..I was tricked into the placement and told I was only going to look at it and was left there..I started in the extension house but after bieng retrained repeatedly they moved me to the main house where the bad kids went..the staff would love anytime to wrestle the kids into restraint and carry to the quiet room..I spent 2 or 3 yrs there and majority of my time I always had a scab from rug burn from bieng restrained..just a grab they dnt care about the kids,I have endlessl stories from there and could go on forever..only thing I took from there was to NEVER allow my child to go to a place like that
