One of the coolest summer spots in the Comox Valley. Unfortunately it is permanently closed due to private ownership - but with a little luck this will change some day and we will all be able to go back here again! The falls are reasonably safe, but also pose a major hazard if you are not careful. For kids or those who can't swim, it is not necessarily a place I would recommend. The upper potholes are great for kids, but certainly want an adult there as well! Rocks can be slippery so good to take it slow! Also a great spot to try and dig for some fossils!

So beautiful and fun. Water was warmer than expected. Definitely recommend water shoes if walking in the river, spots can be slippery.

Wow! An amazing all natural experience. Search out Stotan Falls if you are ever in the Comox area. Be sure to bring your swim suit - a picnic basket and a beach chair... you'll want to spend the day!

Unfortunately when we visited here we were very disappointed. After looking at the amazing pictures on Google we quickly found out upon arriving that we could only swim on one side of the bridge, which was upstream before the falls. The side where the falls and bowls are is private property, and for liability reasons no one is allowed to swim there now. They have security there informing everyone of this as soon as you arrive and the police frequent it often to catch any one trespassing. The side up river that you can swim on is pretty nice like a giant swimming pool ranging from waist deep to slightly over the head. It's slow moving so its nice for families and kids.

Beautiful hidden gem. Walk along the bridge and down the backside, and down the falls a bit to get to the really beautiful spot. Recently it has been circulating Facebook so it's more busy now, but go earlier in the day to skip the rush. Make sure to leave no trace and be stewards to this beautiful area.

Beautiful place. Certainly worth the short hike in to view and enjoy the environment..... As long as the developers don't kick you out first.
