Great little Museum. The Walking Tour is a great addition. Unfortunately the city is good at tearing down old buildings however it is very interesting to see where things were and envision old Chatham. They also have a BIG family history collection which is awesome for those who love genealogy, students and researchers. The staff is very knowledgeable, extremely friendly and if they didn’t know an answer they would look it up to find out the correct information. VERY well organized research centre. Definitely recommend visiting here.

What a hidden gem in the Chatham community. A gold mine of valuable information. With such friendly, and knowledgeable staff members, and volunteers one could easily spend weeks in this place. With the most organized archives I’ve seen in my museum experiences, this place is truly an anchor in the Chatham Community.
A great museum to visit, with very welcoming staff members. I learned so much while I was there. The extensive archives are a wonderful resource for researchers, genealogists, and students alike.
I spent a couple of hours at the Chatham-Kent Black Historical Society and realized I could spend weeks there! The staff are fantastic, knowledgeable and super helpful. There are reams of documents and the museum has a treasure lode of items of great interest to researchers. Really impressed with the museum and will be returning as soon as I can.
Very unorganized and had lots of things to do back in 2016 but nothing for 2018. Would be nice if someone said hi as well instead of just staring as I looked at things.
Small but personal, good layout that covers different kinds of development
Compared to Uncle Tom's cabin, very dated and awkward.
