Dr Ben is a fantastic teacher! He has wonderful teaching technics and is very organized. My son didn’t like piano before and had a few technics that needed to be improved. Dr Ben saw it right away and in a few classes my son improved drastically! My son finds it fun now to learn piano and is looking forward to his classes. As a parent I am in total admiration to watch him teach because his explanations are funny and make so much sense! It makes the learning process so pleasant. We always find the classes go by too quickly! Dr. Ben is a gem!

Ben is a really excellent teacher for students of all ages and levels and we’re lucky to have found out about him because he’s really quite a gem. First of all, his lessons are fun. For younger students, he has developed a variety of teaching tools that bring the instruction of fairly complex ideas to a level that can be easily understood and remembered. For older students, such as my son, he is able to seamlessly modify his teaching techniques to their level. And while my son is interested in the classical repertoire, he is especially drawn to other genres such as jazz and themes from video games and Ben has always encouraged him to follow his interests. In addition to being fun, the lessons are free of stress. This isn’t because the level of instruction is too easy, far from it (Ben is an excellent musician and knows his stuff). Actually, I’d say it’s because mistakes are taken as learning opportunities. I have noticed that, in addition to the musical training, there is a lot of subtle learning going on about how to learn, which is incredibly valuable and applicable to all kinds of situations in life. Ben also makes things easy on the parents because he’s very well organized and has excellent and well thought out systems for making it easy to remember the music and lessons. And despite having a busy life and heavy workload, my son has never once complained about going to his lessons, and hardly at all about practicing. Thank you Ben!
Ben is a wonderful, passionate, and knowledgeable teacher. My son was not always eager to learn, but Ben always found a way and most importantly patience to engage him and present the material in a way that suited my child best, and it was impressive. I also took several lessons with Ben and loved his approach to me as an adult student. If we didn't move, I would definitely be continuing taking his lessons.
I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to speak up about the excellent services of Dr. Ben Chapman. As an adult piano student with experience in playing classical music I was looking to improve my technique while maintaining a focus on the enjoyment of playing. Dr. Chapman has helped me to do that and much more. He not only identifies technical issues and addresses them but more importantly increases my self awareness and equips me with tools to continue to grow on my own. He never relies on a rote method or single approach. If I have difficulty understanding a point or incorporating it into my playing he finds a solution from a different angle. He uses modern techniques, and his teaching strategy is nuanced, effective, and firmly rooted in musicality. Finally, Dr. Chapman is a charming person, totally reliable, and respectful of his students. He is always positive, encouraging, and non-judgmental. He seems to be a hit with all ages and abilities, too. The young siblings who follow me literally run into the room because they can’t wait to get started with the lesson. Dr. Chapman’s qualities and love of music are clearly infectious. That’s the kind of teacher you want!
Amazing experience. Dr. Chapman is very talented in teaching, I look forward to each class. The classes are highly customized for my speed of learning and my interests, all the materials are included, and most importantly it only took me one class to be able to play a decent tune! It is always very inspiring to see the progress and the progress is definitely there. I couldn't be happier, I recommend Dr. Chapman to all adults who want to learn playing piano.
