Christine & Lesley were my doulas in 2017. I had tried to get a midwife but could not get in. I was worried with a doctor in a hospital that I would be pushed into doing things I didn’t want to. Christine was extremely helpful in helping me advocate for myself by empowering me with knowledge and what my choices are. She didn’t try to convince me of another decision; she rather gave me information when asked. One meeting we had, she presented all of the choices we have in labour from if i wanted to labour in my own clothes to all of the pain managements options to what routine is for baby after birth in hospitals. It gave me a lot more sense of ease, but also empowerment. As my daughter ended up coming 3 weeks early, the hospital really was pushing me for intervention and things I did not want. I felt prepared and knowledgeable to say “no” and to choose what I wanted. When Christine arrived to the hospital, she took some time to survey the situation. She then slowly took over gently but with exactly what I had asked her to do. I was never asked by a single nurse or doctor about an epidural as that was my wish. When Christine knew the hospital was pressing me to induce labour, she encouraged my partner & I to try other natural techniques which brought my labour on quickly. Christine has lots of helpful suggestions that I remember learning about at trainings but in the moment couldn’t think of and therefore her presence was appreciated. Some aspects of the doula that I loved but didn’t even really expect or know about were both the post-pardon care and the amazing photographs taken of the birth. Overall, I recommend these ladies as doulas. As a natural mama who wanted a natural birth with little intervention and to breast feed, baby wear and cloth diaper, I found I had lots of support! Thank you ladies for safely and lovingly helping to deliver baby! Sorry it took me so long to write a review!

Christine and Leslie were both very knowledgeable and a lot of help through my pregnancy, through labour and afterwards as well. Leslie was great with my family while they waited for me to get out of surgery
