It was absolutely perfect. It was spiritual and meaningful to us, but also light and humorous at times. Sheri-D's care to create a ceremony that perfectly suited us was so appreciated. We also loved the care she gave us leading up to the ceremony, from sending positive reinforcement during the chaos a few days before the wedding to making sure we took deep breaths before walking down the aisle together. It was an absolute honour to have her lead us into the next stage of our life together, and we will both be forever grateful.

Sheri-D did an absolutely beautiful job officiating our wedding ceremony in Whistler last month. Every aspect of our experience with her was incredible. Upon our initial meeting with her, we were instantly made to feel comfortable and valued. She helped us craft a unique ceremony that was reflective of us in a couple in every way. She was responsive and flexible with changes and offered helpful advice to streamline the ceremony without compromising its integrity . So many of our guests have come to us since to share how much they loved the thoughtful rituals Sheri-D incorporated and that ours was one of the best ceremonies they've ever seen. We are so grateful and honoured to have had Sheri-D officiate our wedding and highly recommend her to anyone seeking a unique and memorable ceremony!
I highly recommend Sheri-D Wilson, who is also the Poet Laureate of Calgary, if you are looking for an amazing officiant for your wedding. Excellent communication from the beginning. Remarkable ceremony.... it was meaningful and yet still had enough levity to relax the guests. I am very grateful to Sheri-D for providing us with such a remarkable ceremony and presence.
Sheri-D brought momentousness and deep reverence to our special day. She has a mind for words, and chooses them deliberately and carefully. In our meetings with Sheri-D, she welcomed our choices as we selected poems and quotes. With our consultation, she masterminded a beautiful ceremony involving arranging our ceremony chairs in a special way. She communicated with our wedding party what to do during the ceremony, allowing us to enjoy the occasion. Her pronunciation of our grandparents' names was correct, which is no small feat given they had come from overseas. Sheri-D was warm and kind throughout her officiating duties.
Sheri-D was the absolute perfect commissioner for our wedding. We couldn't have asked for anyone more appropriate to our desires and needs. She was meticulous with details and legal particulars and but also soft and thoughtful to the spirit of our event. She had a number of options of rituals to include in our ceremony from different cultures (I'm Irish and my husband is Japanese) to consider. As well as being very aware of location and paying homage to Treaty 7 lands. This was important to me and I felt important o her as well. Our ideals aligned beautifully. She had great advice for us on how to incorporate spirituality but keep things "non religious" for the ceremony. As well, as a feminist, it was extremely important to me to use language that highlighted equality within marriage. She is an amazing spoken word artist so she was entertaining and a joy to listen to as she spoke at the ceremony. Her demeanor and carriage at the ceremony was regal and serious when needed, but also witty and fun when appropriate. I would HIGHLY recommend Sheri-D Wilson as a wedding commissioner!
Sheri-D performed a beautiful ceremony for our wedding. We met with her a couple of months before the date which gave us a chance to get to know her a bit and her, us. She drafted a ceremony for us allowing for options of poetry, both her own and works of others. We went back and forth a few times before we had a ceremony that felt right for us. In these communications, Sheri-D was respectful and timely. We met a couple of days before the wedding day to go over the ceremony. It was a delightful experience, and we came away sure that the day would be amazing. Indeed it was! Sheri-D arrived early and spent time with me and my husband-to-be prior to the ceremony. When it came to the ceremony itself, she infused it with a playful spirit, and a kindness and respect for everyone there. Her quality of voice in her delivery of poetry was spot on. When asking us to recite the legal vows, she kept her voice quite low so that it was us that was heard by our guests - many commented on this saying that she knew when to lead the ceremony and when to be in the shadows. When choosing someone who will be the officiant at your wedding, I think it is important to feel a connection with that person when you first meet. We certainly felt that with Sheri-D. We had chosen the poetry, and knew the order of the rituals. We didn’t feel the need to have a definite script for the day. As it turned out, there were some impromptu moments, but Sheri-D sailed through them with grace and wisdom. We are very grateful to have found Sheri-D, and know that the words spoken at our ceremony were unique to us.

Our wedding was well planned and having you as officiant seemed to quantify everything that day at each of the day’s pleasant moments. Sheri met with us on two scheduled occasions for a smooth, friendly and organized discussion to lay out a wedding ceremony that fit for us. You performed our ceremony with respect and with warmth in a professional way that enhanced our day.
