We had such a fantastic experience with The Pioneer and are blown away at the extent they went to help us out of our stressful situation. Not only was it a beautiful, modern venue to get married in, but they did everything they could to make our day joyful and amazing. We are eternally grateful. We got married in January 2021 amid the peak of the pandemic. Due to our horrific issues working with our original venue (Skyline in Calgary - stay far, far away), we had to start looking for backup venues less than two weeks before our wedding as we weren't being provided with basic info and were being actively misled. As a result, we reached out to Mia at The Pioneer, and within an hour of contact she was giving us a virtual tour of their beautiful space, provided a quote and gave us all the info we needed to put our minds at ease. We explained the situation we were in; they did everything they could to help us and were incredibly flexible. They answered all our questions, provided decor, set up our music, and acted as coordinators for our small ceremony on a very short notice. On our wedding day, we showed up and everything was better than we could have anticipated. Mia was a welcoming host and made sure we were taken care of, and the ceremony went seamlessly. The peace of mind The Pioneer provided with their upfront, transparent and gracious customer service cannot be overlooked. We truly feel The Pioneer saved our wedding. We could not recommend them more highly.

My fiancé and I did a photoshoot here with Coco Ash Events and some other YYC Vendors. The Pioneer is a beautiful venue and versatile. I was thrilled to have a shoot here.. the architecture is picturesque and aesthetic. I hope to return here one day and will recommend this venue to family and friends! We held a large charity event last February at The Pioneer. This event space is huge, beautiful, unique and made our event so incredibly special. We received rave reviews from participants and attendees. In addition, working with Jenna and Mia was an absolute dream. The Pioneer is one of my absolute favorite spaces to plan and execute a wedding at! The vibes and aesthetic at the venue are stunning and perfect for the modern bride. The venue is versatile, minimalist, and such an amazing canvas to work with. Stephen Ave is the perfect place for bridal portraits, cocktail hour for your guests, and has the best golden hour in downtown Calgary! Mia is a dream to work alongside, and makes her clients feel so at ease when they are at The Pioneer. Our team LOVES this space and would highly recommend putting The Pioneer at the top of your must visit venues!

I recently filmed an event here for Sofar Calgary. A few local musicians performed that night. Great event and great venue ! Highly recommend. The staff was very professional, friendly and helpful !
