Our son recently went through the Southtrail Driving School for driver’s education and the course and driving instruction were excellent. Our boy had instruction from both Nelson and Ian, and had nothing but good things to say about both. Very comprehensive and high quality instruction. In addition, they have excellent vehicles in perfect working order and condition. In summary, we would highly recommend Southtrail Driving School to anyone requiring driver education.

Let me start by saying a great big thank you to Nelson. Both my daughter & I have nothing but amazing things to say about how he runs this school. Right from the very first phone call when I had a tonne of first timer parent questions, Nelson took the much needed time to explain to me how the program all worked. He then took my daughter who was initially very cautious behind the wheel and helped her become a successful driver with skills and confidence. She passed her road test on the first try then used her final two hours to gain more helpful winter driving tips and various other things. Each lesson builds upon the next and Nelson gives the students real life tough situations to practice, coaches them through it, gives them many helpful tips and quite literally sets them up for success not failure. My daughter raves about how good he was as a teacher and quoted him by saying “good habits make for a good driver mom” lol .. Thank you again to both Nelson & Ian. I will most certainly recommend you guys to anyone that asks for a driving school.

I had Nelson as my teacher for driver's ed and he was fantastic. I felt extremely comfortable driving next to Nelson and I was off to an excellent start within one lesson! He ensures that you feel confident and keeps you from being nervous as he shares various experiences and relevant information. He has great tips and hints to help you succeed and easily pass your driver's exam. Nelson has a positive and appraising attitude at all times and makes driving enjoyable. I have also heard from my friends that other driving school instructors are more ridged which can be intimidating but Nelson's style is so different that you look forward to having lessons with him. The driving school is also very accommodating to work your lessons around the exam date, the school will make an effort when possible to assist in scheduling. The Alberta driving examiner also mentioned that this school is very professional and their cars are well maintained. Students from this school are always a pleasure to examine as they are well taught. My younger sister can hardly wait to have Nelson as her driving instructor! Thank you for the fantastic experience and developing my driving confidence. I quite often think of your conversations while driving to ensure that I'm safe on the road!

I would highly recommend Southtrail Driving School! I am new in Canada and just yesterday I passed the class 5 advanced road test. Nelson did a wonderful job on preparing me and making me a better driver. He provided detailed instructions, great support and was as strict as needed with me, which really helped me improve my driving skills. I will always remember his tips when I drive as I already feel very comfortable and confident. Thanks Coach!!!

We had Nelson as Cole's driving instructor, he was friendly, encouraging and really knew his stuff. Cole felt comfortable driving with him, Nelson put him to ease right away. He was always available for questions, you can tell that he takes great pride in his career. I think that Southtrail Driving School is the best option for Drivers Ed in the city for both dollar value and experienced instructors when there are so many choices out there.
