This spring I ordered 6 yards of their King's Premium Garden Mix. I don't trust reviews that haven't had sufficient time elapse to give a proper review, which is why I'm writing this in October. The positives: Ordering was easy and although there was a slight hiccup they called and everything was sorted out. Delivery too was great; they were punctual and delivered right where I wanted it. However I am disappointed in the quality of the soil. When we first began planting, I noticed that the soil did not easily absorb water. Initially I thought it would be good because the soil seemed light and not compacted. However once the soil was placed in the beds, I could literally dig a small hole in the soil several inches deep, fill it with water, and it would take several minutes before the water drained through and was absorbed into the soil. This made watering difficult, as the soil would shed water off the surface without it penetrating down. Some of the flower bulbs we planted turned to mush because, when the soil did eventually get saturated, it held the water too well because it doesn't drain properly. And with time the soil became hard and compacted, again making watering difficult. Most of the water ran off the surface rather than quickly absorb down into the soil. When I dug up our potatoes in mid-October, the soil was very hard and there were large chunks several inches across that stayed together and were not easily broken apart. Having said that, most of the plants seemed to grow okay. It just took a lot more watering and tilling than it should have for a supposed premium garden mix.

I bought top soil 6 years ago from Soil kings and was happy. So this year I and a couple of neighbors ordered some top soil /loam to add nutrition to the lawn from same place. But the quality looks very different from years ago. Lots of small pieces of particles either some white unknown stuff, or from clay. I called them, they quick refund me, but won't take the soil away or replace it. We understand it's more costly and harder to remove it. But the quality is really not satisfying. I never seen top soil like this. I hope they have better quality control and check in future.

These guys are so legit. Same or better products than Burnco, half the price, no line ups or waiting. Very friendly staff, and loaded up my truck with care. Do yourself a favour and visit these guys!
