I just left SL dental almost in tears... I had a car accident 7 years ago and was rear ended really badly. My jaw was out of alignment and mission dental made the mouth brace that insurance covered and was around 6000. At the time I had a old filling in my molar and was recommended to have it removed and filled and a new crown put in it's place. The tooth was fine, no pain, no wear, just an old filling. I had the procedure done and cost me 1500. This weekend eating a rice cake the crown broke off. I made an appointment to have it looked at and was told it would be 1900 to replace it. Being a self employed person I have no dental insurance coverage and thought it would be covered. No. 5 years...not 7. They did offer me a discounted price of 1200. Still more then I can afford. I wish I never got the procedure done in the 1st place. Like I said the tooth was fine and if I was told there was a possibility of the crown falling out every few years and costing thousands of dollars to replace I never would have had it done. You would think after my costs and them making thousands from insurance claim they would help their customers out....guess not. Very upset and dissipoited that mission dental would not warranty their work after 7 years....lesson learnt. Update to my review! Just returning from Thailand. I had my teeth cleaned, laser, whitening, x-ray, molds, 8 porcelain veneers, the crown they wanted me to repay 2000. A night guard which they charged me 6000. I also got zoom molds And 7 gels for whitening! All that for 4900 Canadian? Amazing clean shop, knowledgeable and friendly dentists! Dentists in Canada and especially Calgary are crooks! The cost for everything Canada would have been 30,000. Thailand ,4900!! My teeth look perfect! Do yourself a favor and go to Bangkok, it's worth the flight!
I have had an amazing experience with SL Dental. The staff is always friendly and super fun to be around. They always make sure to be super accommodating and are always helpful when it comes to billing, sending in quotes, and payments. I always look forward to seeing them.
After my first visit to the SL dental practice as a new patient of Dr Lee, I knew I would not have to look any further. The initial visit was the most thorough investigation I have had since my move to Calgary some thirty years ago. I have had a few more visits to Dr Lee and I always felt like an appreciated patient. Everyone was friendly and very efficient and professional. Their safety protocol during this Covid-19 period can't be faulted, and the fees are decent.
