We recently lost our kitty and chose the private cremation option with the vet clinic. We had never been through the process before, and because it was the middle of the night when we made our arrangements at the clinic, I reached out to Gateway for some assistance. I got a very quick response from Cara who provided me with all the information that she could and promised they would look after our sweet buddy until he was able to come home. Her words of compassion meant the world to us when we were hurting so much, and when we picked up his remains from the vet clinic, we really felt like he was treat like one of their own. Thank you for looking after our buddy. We think you did a beautiful job with his aftercare.

The loss of my dog Baby was something that I've been dreading for the past 20 years that Baby was with me. The feeling of losing a loved one never goes away but the compassion that was shown by Justin before, during and even after the cremation process was nothing short of amazing. He was gentle and treated her little body with dignity and respect throughout the whole process and even kept her wrapped up in her blanket as I had requested after she passed at home. He went above and beyond and even combed out her fur and made sure that the final memory we have of our sweet Baby looked as though she was peacefully asleep. He allowed our family to spend as much time with her in the viewing room until we let him know that we were ready to say our final goodbyes. I couldn't get myself to be there for the cremation but had my sisters attend instead on my behalf and Justin was absolutely transparent and showed them and me (over Facetime) the entire process so that we knew that we were indeed getting our Baby back when we received her urn. Justin, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this process as easily as emotionally possible on us. You are absolutely amazing at what you do and are truly a blessing to all pet owners.
I really need Justin to know how much we appreciated his extra effort with our very much loved boy Goomba. It is a stressful and heartbreaking time when you have lost a pet and I was not the nicest person to deal with as grief is never pretty.. but Justin was wonderful and calm and extra accommodating and we got our boy Goomba back in time to spend Easter weekend back at home. Thank you everyone at Gateway for your kind words and support during the worst time.
Your communication between your establishment and McKnight 24 hour Animal Hospital is to be desired. I'm being polite here, so you're welcome for that. Because of the lack of co-ordination and quality of service, my friend's cat's ashes/remains were mishandled and lost. It didn't help anyone's case either that it was due to a "computer error". Your place can respond back and say it was because of the vet clinic, but I mean if both of your businesses are working with each other so closely with animals who have crossed to Rainbow Bridge, you should have your act together JUST AS MUCH AS THE CLINIC. Now I don't live out west, I live in Ontario, but my friend has been through enough as it is lately...so I know where I won't be going when I am able to travel to that area of Canada once again.
This review goes hand in hand with my review of McKnight 24 hour animal hospital. Due to incompetency from both sides, My beloved Family Member Jack will never be coming home to us. Thanks a ton for ruining the holidays for me and my family.
